5Work for War
By C. Carlson
I wore these boots in the mountains and valleys of Afghanistan during a period of almost six months. I did lots of hiking and these were the only boots I used. They held up very well, they were comfortable, and they were sturdy and trustworthy. I recommend them highly to anyone looking to do serious hiking on rough terrain. I'm not sure how they do in cold weather, in hot weather your feet do sweat a bit, but it didn't cause me much trouble. I didn't get any blisters from them and they keep water out quite well. They do have fairly high arches; I would try them on to be sure they fit the shape of your foot. Other than that they are great. Highly recommended.

4Moran GTX Hiking Boot Review
By J. Shields
These are extremely high-quality boots. However, I want to caution future buyers on a few details. First, the boot runs a little small. In other words, order at least a half size larger than you would normally wear. I didn't order them larger and I have rub spots on toes. Also, be forewarned that the sole of this boot is harder than woodpecker lips! The soles are like 2x4 boards...extremely stiff. This is great for mountaineering, but not for everyday wear. Honestly, I made a 250.00 mistake. I should have bought the "Fugitive" model of Asolo, the soles aren't as stiff.

5Targus ADW01USZ
By Bballguy34
I purchased this recently to pair with my Gateway 4010U 10.1" netbook(since it doesn't have an internal drive). I have burned a couple dvd's and cd's and everything worked perfect. I have owned Targus products in the past and have always been very pleased with them. The Targus ADW01USZ is an external DVD-RW USB powered optical drive (doesn't require a power supply), the usb cord that comes with the drive is 2-headed but, I only needed one on my netbook to power it. The unit is ready to use right out of the box, without the need to install drivers for it.(I am currently running Windows 7)The color of the drive is gloss black with dark gray around the outside edge. It is also very quiet which is a plus. All and all I am happy with the drive, there are less expensive drives out there but I don't know if I would trust the quality. Hope this helps anyone that might be considering it.

5What the Arcitec should have been.
By R. Moreno
The RQ12 fits my 3 year old Arcitec. This is what the Arcitec should have came with. I always felt a like I was missing out on something with the RQ10 heads. Going over the same spot multiple times and still having a hair or two there. A $[...] razor and $[...] replacement heads should not allow this! This head fixes that. I can shave in much less time and have an even closer shave. Little hairs never get left behind anymore. The head also contours to the neck nicely. This is by far the best head since the Nivia Cool Touch version head.

4Fits Arcitec
By Lyle Swann
Just purchased the 1280XCC to replace an Arcitec. The new RQ12 head fits the Arcitec series shavers (RQ10 head). Even though Norelco claims it won't.UPDATE: Thought I'd update this with some of the info from the discussion here. The RQ12 will not fit in the Arcetic Jet Clean system. The 1280Xcc will not fit in the Arcetic Travel Case (even with the RQ12 removed). The RQ12 is larger than the RQ10. I get a much closer shave with the RQ12 than the RQ10. I found a brand new RQ10 in a drawer and gave it a shot. After using the RQ12 for 3 months and going back, the RQ10 felt terrible. Very rough and irritating. I don't remember it being that irritating before the RQ12. The RQ12 is a smooth and cuts cleanly.Upped my rating to 4 on the RQ12.

5Best shaving head ever
By D Squared
I did some googling to find out that this head will pop right on my Arcitec shave body. Well, it certainly does! (Philips won't tell you that) Sure beats buying a whole new unit. I was never satisfied with the heads on the Arcitec. Unless you were shaving daily, it could not catch lengthening hair properly, I would have to pre-clip with the clipper on the back first, and then shave. Time consuming and it irritates the skin (and me). This new head does it all! It has varying size holes and it pivots in more axis. Just amazing. I would highly recommend if you want to replace your original Arcitec heads (worn or not)!

5Great piece of technology
By R. A. Velasco
I've been a DJ since 1994 and have been hoping for something like this to come that'll help me be more modular, reduce my equipment count and weight and still give me the fundamentals that I need in order to perform. This little gadget has met my every requirement in order to put away my technics turntables and put them into semi-retirement. The software that it comes with (Serato Itch), is from the same software manufacturer of Serato Scratch Live - pretty much the standard in DJ software in the U.S. The software is always being updated to better meet the needs and wants of professional DJ's and all the updates are available free of charge - just like in Scratch Live. It's a great piece of technology that would help the budding DJ get started on a budget and it's also a great add-on for the professionals that are either looking to downsize and/or add a backup system to their setup. There's tons of support from the Serato team for the Itch software and the construction on the deck itself is great. It has a great feel to it and transitioning from vinyl and/or cd's to DJ'ing using the VCI is so easy and feels natural, I'm starting to use it more than I use my turntables.

5Bedside DJ paradise.
By Stanley Tam
I grew up with 1200 mkII's and a the low end vestax 2 channel mixer. I have a huge mp3 collection of mostly old school hip hop and have watched through the years the midi decks that have come out and none of them have really seemed to duplicate the feel of analog tables. a few years ago, companies really started stepping it up with serato and final scratch doing their things keeping real vinyl decks alive. for me, the set up was still just too complicated with those so in the past year, it really seemed like a good time to pick something up. my requirements were the following: real time scratching (crabbing, etc), drag and drop pull from itunes playlists, small, lightweight, decently priced. (i paid six bills) and plug and play. just the idea of these requirements would not be possible a few years ago. looking at youtube and reviews online, this mkII seemed like the perfect prescription for my turntable itch. i'll never play at clubs or have a night at some lounge (though i want the option to), will mostly just play in bed or at my office table, or for friends sitting around on the porch. i just want to beat juggle some, scratch some, and play beats. if i want to plug in my 1200 to play records, there is a direct line in for that (something the original vci 300's couldn't do). so this mkII meet all of my requirements. sure the ns7 numark has moving platters and just looks absolutely sick, i can put this on my lap in bed and scratch while layin back with my macbook air with wifi on (no skipping). the platters are smooth, absolute real time no lag, mad colored lights which makes it a lot of fun, intuitive controls. i find myself up at 11 and just leave it on my bed to my side and sit up, put it on my lap, and scratch the ish out of old special ed, rodney o and joe cooley, and wu with new beats by childish gambino, kid cudi, minaj. good times. recommend it.

5One of the best controller's on the market
By Frank Wite
With the recent price drops I decided to pick up one these little gems. I had always wanted one but since I have the ns7 I thought it would never get used. Boy was I wrong! Now after constantly lifting and loading the ns7, I wanted something much lighter with the same or similar capabilites. I remembered the vci-300 mk2 and checked them out to find that they were on sale (making room for the new vci-380). I figured that now is the time to pick one of these controllers up and I'm happy that I did. I have no latency issues and I can scratch for hours with it. It's very easy to pull out anywhere to mix and scratch with. It's also sits perfectly in my lap. My back appreciates the vci 300 and for some reason it has become my go to controller even over my ns7 that I love.

5Fabulous Swiss Watch for the Price!!!
By Ian
I recently received my Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241452 Officers Chrono Black Dial Watch via Amazon / UPS and I could not be happier with the quality of the watch. I frequently order through Amazon, and once again my experience was outstanding...Quality, Price, Shipping, and the No-Tax benefit made this purchase enjoyable. My old Casio chronograph watch crashed on me, so it was time for some shopping. I stumbled on this watch after browsing through the many hundreds of watches in the $200.00 to $400.00 USD price range. I narrowed it down between three quality manufactures (Seiko, Citizen and Victorinox) and decided to go with Victorinox. All three companies had nice options, but I chose the "Swiss" option after lots of online research and YouTube Victorinox video reviews. I realize this is not a "high-end" Swiss watch, but the Swiss manufactured ETA quartz movement recieved very high marks, and is used in quartz driven watches costing much more than the Victorinox 21452.So...here are my thoughts:Packaging / Watch Box - Nice (presentation box and enclosed manual)First impression - WOW!Case size - 42mm = love it, just the right size for me.Feel of the watch - Heavy (good) and the band (22mm?) was thinner than expected.Quality of build - Better than expected!Rubber band - Narrower than expected, but very comfortable and looks great.Time keeping - Excellent (over a period of three days...we shall see and the time goes by).Dial window - Synthetic sapphire (fantastically clear and glare resistant...as if there is nothing covering the watch face.)Case material - The stainless steel is top quality and the finish on the case / bezel is flawless...very impressed.Although I have only had this watch for a week, I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a quality Swiss quartz watch within the "reasonable" price range. I enjoy wearing it and plan on keeping it for many years. On a personal quality scale of 1 (Dollar Store) to 10 (Rolex / Omega, etc.), I rank it a solid 7 (Really like it, and you will too). Great buy!!!

4"Semi-weighted" key action (compared to Axion Pro too)
By D. Wendel
A lot of people have reviewed this controller in terms of its integration with various DAWs. I'll just quickly say that with my ProTools M-Powered 8, integration was a breeze. I haven't fully figured out how to use all of the features, but at least using the faders for channels and the knobs for instruments is super easy. I haven't tried any of the advanced MIDI features yet because I'm not really interested in those features yet.The part I *am* interested in is using this controller as a keyboard. I want to play music for fun, and then record it. So I was looking for something that is a pleasure to play. And this is! I love playing virtual instruments through ProTools - the quality of the sounds is great just using the instruments that came for free with PT8 (Structure and Xpand in particular), and for far less money than you'd have to pay for a standalone synth. There is a tiny bit of lag sometimes, which is the downside of this type of setup, but it's weird - my brain compensates after a few seconds and I don't even notice it anymore. So the one thing left is the feel of the keys. Here's where I have mixed feelings. I like these a lot more than standard synth keys, but also less than piano keys (being a piano player first). You might say, "Well, that's semi-weighted!" and you'd be right, but there's more to it than that. These keys are hinged right at the top where the keys meet the console. So while playing in the key of C, the keys feel really nice - a little bit of resistance, but light enough to be very fast, and a solid but maybe slightly clicky feel at the bottom. I think that's what "semi-weighted" is supposed to feel like. But the key of Ab is different. If you're playing up on the keys (near the hinge) as you often would be when playing in "black keys" keys, it can be surprisingly more difficult to strike the note. If you do hit it hard enough, it's harder to control the force. The physics buffs out there can see why this would be - a short lever arm means more force is required but over a smaller distance. For folks who are interested in a comparison, I also tried the Axiom Pro 49. I didn't play it for as long (because I ended up not buying it), but I think the feel was ever so slightly mushier yet didn't display this short lever arm issue that this does. So I think I'd give the Pro a slight edge there. But it's also about $100 more, so take that into consideration. All in all, I give this four stars. For the price it is really great. The feel is WAY better than a $200 music room keyboard. But it's also not good enough to keep me from looking for something better. I think when I want to play with new synth or sampled instrument sounds, and definitely when I'm recording, this will be great. But when I have a little more space and money I'll be looking for something with a more consistent feel up and down the keys for my normal playing.

2Terrible Support.
By Michael Creeth
See description/ other reviews for functionality and features. This review deals with their support. My Axiom 49 worked for about 6 months until it suffered from the dreaded "blue screen of death." In the case of axioms, this means that the screen backlight turns on, but the unit is still completely unresponsive. After a two month battle with their so called support, I got an RMA number and sent it back. When I received my "repaired" unit, it was still broken!BEWARE of their "support." They don't check that repaired units are working before they ship them back, that is after you pay for return shipping, of course. Disgusted. Appaled. Horrified. BEWARE.

4Mapping to Cakewalk, Sonar
By K. Rogers
This is a nice midi controller. A word of warning though if you are a Cakewalk, Sonar user.Since this is a brand new version of the Axiom 49, the software writers at Roland have not had time to write code for all the functions it provides. As a result, the Direct Link that M-audio is advertising does not work on Cakewalk Sonar up thru version 8.5.This means you will need to hand map some of the controller buttons to your DAW if you want them to function. It does auto-map in some DAWs like the latest versions of Pro tools, Ableton Live to name a couple.I was unaware of this when I purchased it so I went thru a lot of frustration trying to figure out how the thing is supposed to work. Documentation is sparse so I relied on the internet especially YouTube to help me thru it.I like the controller over all. It is solidly built and is of good quality. The keys and drum pads work very well.It will be even better when the software technology catches up to it.

4Tolerable issues, overall satisfied.
By Luke
My first keyboard controller. Took a couple minutes to get it working but it wasn't too hard. I see a lot of people saying it doesn't have documentation or it has bad documentation: complete crap. There is an extensive manual on the included disc. Like I said, it's been my first controller and I was programming the pads to play different drum sounds after just a couple minutes of reading the manual. I use Propellerhead Reason 6 and it works great. It actually shows the name of the instrument I have selected or the name of the parameter the knobs are affecting. Very intuitive (once you know what you're doing). You may have to go to M-Audio's website to install something based on what software you will be using with your controller. Pretty simple. The device:It's compact, actually just about the same length as my computer keyboard. That makes it portable, however, it's not exactly lightweight; it's about 7 pounds. Not really that bad but it was a bit heavier than I expected. The keys feel pretty good. They're advertised as "semi-weighted" and I guess that means, well a lot of keyboards just have plastic keys and it doesn't feel like a traditional piano with ivory keys, this feels better. I'm not much of a keyboard player (yet) but they seem good to me. The pitch and mod wheels feel good. The buttons feel alright...The knobs take a bit getting used to. If you rotate them slowly they increment slowly. If you do it fast it increments fast. They call this acceleration. You can edit the settings to make this less or more effective. Or even change it to linear (it changes at the same rate regardless of speed). As far as I can tell there isn't a simple "sensitivity" setting to just make the linear mode more sensitive... And that's a shame because it takes a few full turns to go from min to max. Probably 99% of the time this is simply going to be a minor annoyance. The trigger pads, oh the trigger pads.At first they didn't work. Then after reading the manual I found out they default to mixer mode, there is a small circular button with a P on it (presumably for Pads), that puts them into play mode, basically. *shrugs*So, now that I had them working, as I said previously, it was just a quick read to find out how to change the note that plays for each one.The feel of the pads is quite stiff. When you hit one it shows on the LCD how hard on a scale of 1-127. If I barely tap it, it doesn't register... If I keep tapping a tiny bit harder until it register, about the softest I can hit is like 30. And to get it to 127 I have to really wail on it. Usually it doesn't even go to 127, but I don't want to hit it any harder. Again, there are sensitivity options but it doesn't change the fact that it doesn't register until you're giving it a pretty decent tap, and doesn't get max unless you wail on it; it would be nice to have more dynamics. One more little quirk, sometimes when you try to play a note you hit it once, but it double hits (kinda like a flam if you know what that is). If you're just sequencing, of course you can delete extra notes and quantize the whole thing so it doesn't matter if you screw up... But it's annoying.--This next section was written when I first got it and should be taken as a noobie's experience--The big issue with the pads is the delay. There was a noticeable delay when trying to play a beat. Very annoying. If you know a bit about sound and computers and have an ASIO compliant soundcard, you'll be fine. But it took me a bit of research to figure out I needed something called ASIO4ALL and why. Basically, ASIO is kind of a way for your computer to bypass a lot of unnecessary system stuff, thus making stuff like MIDI more responsive. (No hit lag). If you have an ASIO soundcard, you're good to go. But there is also something for people who don't that, ASIO4ALL, which, as I understand it, basically fakes it or does some other way. So once I got that set up, I had no lag and could play a beat with ease. However, after that, my regular sound wouldn't work... Like for youtube. I'm still trying to figure out how to get this to work, there's got to be a way.--EDIT 4/28/13--I have since gotten more hardware. I have a Fast Track C400 audio interface and I don't experience any noticeable delays now. As a commenter on my review has stated: the delay wasn't the Axiom's fault; it was my computer's fault. The way sound is processed in Windows is laggy. If you use ASIO4ALL, it will help. But it will take over your sound card. Once you get an audio interface, you will be able to run your DAW through that, and hook up a second set of speakers to it. Then you will have full and separate control over your Windows sounds and DAW sounds. Also, there have been a couple of questions about the transport buttons. I've tested the device in Reason 6 (and now, 7 Beta), Ableton Live 7 Lite, and Pro Tools SE. Thus far I only really use Reason but everything seems to work fine in the other 2 programs. The transport buttons certainly work fine.--END EDIT--My biggest problem with it, unfortunately, is something I knew when I purchased it... It's short. Only 25 keys. Obviously, this isn't a flaw of the controller itself, rather, part of it's design. I would have loved the 49 key version but I didn't want to spend the extra $80 or whatever it is. It's fine for simple parts and just making sequencing easier but it's not really for playing normal keyboard or piano parts. I've been a drummer and a guitarist for probably 9 years now and I love music but at the moment I'm just a hobbyist. If I stick with it and make some cool stuff then I'll probably invest in a longer keyboard.Pros:-Keys feel nice-Easy set up (read the manual people, it's all there. also, google is your friend)-Looks great-Cheapest one I've seen with all of these features-CompactCons:-Lack of knob sensitivity setting (only acceleration)-A bit weighty at 7 pounds-Stiff pads//Retracted(read EDIT above)-Delay with the pads unless you use ASIO4ALL which can conflict with other stuff (I'm still trying to get to cooperate with my regular sounds [youtube, system sounds, etc])-Only 25 keysOverall, I'm happy. (or I will be once ASIO4ALL starts cooperating). I feel like, for me at least, it might have been better if I got a larger mid keyboard, like a 49 key, and then a separate MIDI pad thing. More keys, and probably better pads.... But if you want something compact, something with a bit of everything rolled into one, this is great. If you need any help, comment and I'll be happy to do what I can.

5Impressive Unit
By samurA.I.
To preface, being a hardware nut (previous owner of a Korg Triton Studio, several Access Virus keyboards, etc.), the M-Audio Axiom 25 was actually the first pure midi-driven keyboard that I've ever owned.First impressions: the unit is light weight, compact, and stores easily in my computer desk. very easy to setup, and I can't tell you how wonderful it is having a keyboard that can be powered directly through the USB. the semi-weighted keys are a nice touch which allow for more expressive playing, but are still a far cry the feel of a real piano or high end keyboards. the touch pads have a little bounce to them, which provides great response for tapping in drum/percussion patterns. Knobs and mod wheels feel about the same as any other keyboard I've use, no surprises there. obviously with a 25 key range you are sacrificing playability for compactness, and to this effect you'll have to be creative when composing outside of that range (e.g. recording each hand independently, etc.). However, for most electronica producers, it is perfectly suitable working within a 2 octave range.Preliminary Review: The main feature that drew me to the Axiom was directlink, but as of today (to the best of my knowledge) this feature is broken in Ableton Live 8.2 and 8.2.1 (though it may be fixed when the next patch is released). For those using 8.1.4, you should be fine. However, the unit still works in Ableton for playing midi and tweaking parameters...it just lacks the instant mapping that is achieved through directlink. The pads work great with Battery, and the 8 knobs has made playing Massive and some other soft synths much easier. Overall I've been about 15x more productive since I'm not bogged down with my mouse for tweaking parameters. I'm very happy with this purchase, and I'm looking forward to seeing how well directlink works once the patch is out.

5Transport alone makes it worth it
By AmazonAudiophile89
First let me start by saying this, the transport controls alone are worth the price! The transport controls have expedited my songwriting process and has actually motivated me to write more music. Works well with Protools 8 and Native Instruments Komplete. Semi-Weighted keys are nice and the pads are almost as responsive as my Korg PadKontrol, which is saying alot. Easy to setup via midi cable to my audio interface(profire 2626). Did not want to spend the extra money on an adapter and did not want to use USB, so I grabbed an old 1Spot (by visual sound) adapter I had lying around and it works perfectly. Adapter with needed rating is very difficult to find at any store such as target, walmart, radioshack, best buy so just go with the maudio one or the 1spot.

4Awesome looking but...
By S.T.I.C.K.M.A.N.
Very modern looking, always gets a positive comment but no matter what we do, we can feel this fan vibrating the floor of the room above it.

5The fan everyone will be talking about
By C. Kosan
This great fan is actually 2 fans that have 3 speeds and can slowly rotate around or remain fixed in space, all at the touch of a button on the remote control. The individual fans can be angled down thanks to a flexible section in each arm. I saw a similar fan in a restaurant a few years ago but every time I searched for one the cost ranged from $1500-$2000! BUT then this year my search was rewarded with the Minkea Aire Gyrette at a third of the cost! I just love it! The only thing negative I can say is that when the fans are rotating there is a slight hum that disappears when stationary. These are so eye catching you had better move the other furniture out of the room so friends don't trip!

5great purchase for portable softbox
By jwooley
I shoot a lot of newborn sessions.... sometimes in a customer's home. Since I do not have a designated studio space, these lights are wonderful. They are very easy to transport and set up. The bulbs that were sent are great, but remember to keep the boxes/Styrofoam that they come in because you will need that to store them in to protect them for future transport. I would overall recommend these to anyone starting out and in need of a steady light source for indoor shoots. The bulb/lights that come with them are very crisp and clean without irritating the subject.

5Great knife
By 421Clay
I own this knife along with one other Mcusta, the MC 16D. The blade steel on both knives is impressive to me, though I am no expert. The 16D is a little more compact and the blade is much thicker, more of a general purpose utility knife I suppose. In keeping with the tactical label the blade on this knife is much thinner and longer, it seems to hold an edge equal to my other Mcusta. They are both razor sharp and easy to maintain, I run them over my steel sharpener once or twice a year to straighten any burrs, and oil them occasionally to reduce corrosion. The action on both knives is quite smooth. This one can be deployed fairly easily and quickly with one hand. All it takes is a nudge from your thumb and a flip of the wrist, and I love the fact that the pocket clip is placed for tip up carry. This is a work of art and a very functional tactical knife. If you do own this or any Mcusta folders be sure to check the handle screws occasionally. I lost one from this knife and have no idea how to find a replacement. A fine knife, tough to beat in its price range.
