lovely, but not true white

The can itself is wonderful: it's the perfect size, it's the perfect shape, the mechanism is wonderful, it's easy to change bags. But the color is not "true white," so if you intend to put it against white walls, it will stand out and look subtly off-white. You wouldn't notice if it were the only white thing in the room (or if you had only white appliances, and your walls were a contrasting color), but it looks cream-colored against my white walls. I plan to send it back and order the stainless can instead.

Kicking & Screaming but love it!

My hubby doesn't nag much but he is big on step kitchen trash receptacles because of the lid closure that (very practical) helps prevent flies from depositing eggs during Tucson summers when all you've got going for you is the swamp cooler. I prefer discrete, under the counter types. I talked myself into trying this as the SO had been lobbying for something like this for two years. I finally bought into trying due to the "retro" look and because it came in something besides stainless steel.Hard for me admit, but I love it. It looks too cool and it is very well made. Step opener doesn't pop the lid up like a crazy thing -has a very delicate response. I have it almost against a wall and can still control opening it so the lid doesn't hit the wall. It has an inner container that can be removed for washing. Their plastic bags are expensive but regular ones will fit if you fuss with them a bit so the plastic doesn't show when the lid closes.Had to tell Hubby that he was right all along and that I should have caved much earlier. Boy, does he love that!

2 have arrived dented.

I ordered one of these and it arrived seriously crumpled. The lid looked like a beer can on a frat boys forehead. Went through the whole return process. Another one arrived very promptly, but on inspection it was also dented. While not as severely damaged as the first one, the lid had a baseball sized dent and the side looked like it had been kicked. Clearly it is not possible to ship this item without it suffering damage. Once again the whole return thing. And now, I'm done. I won't get another replacement. As to the item itself, I don't know if it works as promised or not. I do know it doesn't travel well.
