4WARNING: ADDING ADDITIONAL UNITS
By Houston Ethernet Customer
This is a terrific product. It does what it says that it will do. You will get much faster speeds than wireless without all the dropouts. Each box comes with two units. These units are identical. The one that you plug into your router becomes the "home" unit. The second box becomes the "remote" unit. If you're only planning on using these two boxes then you're fine. The problem becomes adding additional units (which is the beauty of purchasing this system.) There are no decent instructions. Not on the WD website, not included in paper form, and not set out in any clear fashion the pdf "User Guide" on the included CD. If you want to add addtional units around your house, then you will have to install the utiliy on the CD. Next -- AND THIS IS CRITICAL -- your computer will have to be attached by an ethernet cable to your "HOME" Live Wire device. The setup won't work otherwise. You will then:1) Have to use the "ADD" button on the utility to add new devices.2) You will have to locate the password for the additonal units, which is marked P/W on the bottom of the device.3) You will have to enter the passcode and name the additional device.4) Then hit the "add device" button on the computerized utility.5) Once you've done this, all the devices should reboot, and the within 60 seconds, the utility should scan and locate all the devices on your system.6) If the utility does not locate all the devices within 60 seconds, it means that the devices did not properly reboot. (This is what happened to me.) You will then have to unplug ALL the devices, and then replug them into the wall, and then close and reopen the utility. It should now work.Whatever you do: Don't bother calling customer service. You'll get someone too dumb to work at a McDonalds who won't have the slightest clue what your problem is or why the devices don't work. You will spend 15 to 30 minutes on hold before they confess that they don't know anything about the product.I almost gave up and returned these devices four or five times before I finally got them working. It's a shame Western Digital can't be bothered to provide instructions for one of the most basic functions associated with creating a powerline network. I guess they are selling to many of these units and don't want the supply to dry up because customers are adding third, fourth, and fifth boxes to their homes.Good luck!p.s. Thanks to all the many fine reviewers on Amazon who have taken the time to explain the ins and outs of setting up various electronics products.

5Just perfect in every single way (not kidding)
By A. Dent
WD's Livewire Powerline little boxes allow for high-speed data flow over your residence's electrical wiring with ZERO setup - something that would have been viewed as a miracle or an impossibility only a few years ago. Anyone (such as myself) who currently relies on 'wireless' to connect various devices could use Livewire Powerline for those networked appliances that either can't connect wirelessly (many Bluray players and TV sets) or a high bandwidth channel is needed to stream HD content. Before making a 'buy' decision, it is important to understand that Livewire will NOT significantly improve 'Internet' performance unless your ISP provides you with a very large bandwidth. If your Wi-Fi router supports 802.11g, you will get an average throughput of 22 Mbit/s which is more than most ISP can provide for Internet bandwidth. In other words, your Wi-Fi router should usually handle whatever the Internet may throw at you with some room to spare and whether you get your ISP's 10 Mbit/s data stream over at 22 Mbit/s from Wi-Fi or at 200 Mbit/s from Livewire Powerline it's still... 10 Mbit/s or close. On the other hand, streaming form your media server at will make all the difference in the world when compared with your Wi-Fi throughput.WHO NEEDS IT?To summarize, you will BENEFIT from Liverwire Powerline when:- You stream from YOUR media server- Have some Internet-ready device that does not support Wi-Fi and your home is not 'wired' for Ethernet- You have a big house or for whatever reason Wi-Fi can't reach some specific device or the reception is poor- You have a VERY HIGH bandwidth Internet connectionYou will NOT BENEFIT from Liverwire Powerline to connect to the Internet via a 'normal' broadband link and, of course, if your house is already wired for Ethernet.MY EXPERIENCETo evaluate WD's Livewire Powerline I decided that I will first try it without reading the manual (a .pdf) or installing whatever software came on CD. To my surprise, I was able to set it all up and get it running in a few minutes. Still haven't looked at the CD.In the box you find the 2 little (literally) identical Liverwire Powerline boxes, 2 power cords and 2 short (too short) Ethernet wires. And... yes a CD that should have some software that you COULD install and use if you had trouble setting things up. The boxes have 4 RJ-45 (not phone jacks) ports, an On/Off switch set to On by default (no need to ever set it to off) and some little lights that blink whenever there is data traffic. My setup and installation proceeded as follows:- I connected the power cords to the boxes- On each of the 2 boxes I connected one end of the Ethernet wires to one port on the box- I placed one of the boxes near my router in the basement and connected the other end of the Ethernet wire to one of the router's ports- I plugged the power cord into a wall outlet - must NOT plug it into a power strip or surge protector, it MUST go directly into the wall outlet- I attached the Ethernet wire of the other box to my PS3 upstairs- I plugged this box's power cord into the wall outletOnce the above was done, I turned on my PS3 and set it to use the 'wired' connection. It recognized it within seconds and I was pleased to see the Internet test indicating an 8.2 Mbit/s, better than the 5.6 Mbit/s I had over the Wi-Fi. But that was not all. The big improvement was when I played a video off the media server located in the basement: flawlessly playing our 720p home videos over the new connection vs. choppy before over Wi-Fi.As expected, the PS3 benefited but only to a small degree when it came to the Internet stream - it did benefit because the Wi-Fi signal strength was only 63% - and it benefited tremendously when media streaming was between in-house devices. With 4 RJ-45 ports available, I am considering now getting a dedicated Blu-ray player and will not have to specifically seek one that had Wi-Fi built-in.MY EVALUATIONAs far as I am concerned (see my experience notes above) Livewire Powerline is in many ways the perfect gadget. It does its magic, it does it well and 'the rest of us' don't need to bother with manuals or spend hours on hold with tech support - WD does provide a tech support phone number and a Web site if you get yourself into trouble.I do not expect not think about this device again until I get my Blu-ray player. Like my Linksys router, I expect it to sit there, largely forgotten and gathering dust behind the entertainment center and do its job without me worrying about it at all. Which makes it perfect. And the price is not that bad either._________________________________NOTE: WD claims that this will allow you to stream HD on your home network. This is true but be aware that not all HDs are equal. You will NOT be able to stream Blu-ray quality 1080p with 7.1 uncompressed sound - you will need 'Gigabit Ethernet' for that. You should have no problem streaming 720p with 2 channel stereo sound, which is what you are likely to produce as a 'home' video.NOTE 2: I only tested with 2 boxes but I know of at least one person (my boss actually) who has 4 such boxes (an older model) in his house and happens to be very happy with the setup.NOTE 3: See a discussion on my statement that "you will NOT be able to stream Blu-ray quality 1080p with 7.1 uncompressed sound" in the 'comments' sections of this review.

5Goodbye Wires; So Long Flaky Wireless; Hello Smooth Streaming Media!
By Robert L. Stinnett
I think if many of us could build a new house to our specifications that no doubt at the top of a lot of our lists for "must haves" would be Ethernet/network connections in almost every room. In fact, it's not unusual to see houses that are being built this way standard nowadays -- with all the gadgets, set top boxes, computers and other electronic devices that can hook up to the Internet the need for a connected house is constantly growing. Sure, you could do wireless -- but it has it's limitations, and it can be flaky when streaming HD media, not to mention that it has problems traveling through metal objects and is subject to interference. So what is the homeowner or apartment dweller to do when they don't have connections to ever room readily available? The answer is as simple as two little black boxes. The WD Livewire Powerline kit is one of the best electronic "gadget-enabling" devices I have used in a long time. At first I was skeptical of the claims of 200 megabits per second, and even more skeptical of how it could work over the power lines. However after receiving the product and using it any doubts I had were blown away. This thing is amazing and delivers excactly what it promises. It's as simple as the box says it is. You simply plug one end into the wall near an existing network connection and hook a standard ethernet cable (included) up to your home network or broadband connection. Then plug the other one into the wall anywhere else in your house. No software to mess with, no complicated setup procedures, just instant connection. You literally can have this up and running in less than 5 minutes from when the box shows up at your door! There are a few things to be aware of. First, this must be plugged directly into the wall socket. It cannot be plugged into a power strip, surge protector or battery backup. Second, the condition of the wiring in your home will affect your speeds. If you have an older home where wiring did not follow standards (from about the early to mid 70s forward) you may not be able to achieve the full 200mbps. Our home was built in 1977 and speed tests show that I was able to achieve right around 195-196mbps. Impressive! They offer 4 ports on each box, so you can plug in multiple devices as each location. They also transmit the data in 128-bit encryption, which is automatic, so you can feel safe that your data is protected even if your neighbor has a pair of these as well (though the chances of you running into each other are slim -- by the time it makes it out of your house, through the electric company equipment and into theirs the signal will be highly degraded). The best part of it all -- no wires. Just two very small boxes that you can tuck away out of sight. Want to hook up your HDTV to your home network or the internet? Just plug and play! Moving it to a new room? Just unplug and go -- it really is that simple. For the more geeky amongst us, the product also comes with a CD you can use to update the firmware, setup network restrictions and do a few other technical things on the boxes themselves. However, the use of the CD is completely optional -- you don't need to worry about fooling with it unless you want to dive into the really geeky side of the product. So if you have a HDTV, computers, gaming system or other gadgets you want to hook up and wireless just won't cut it, or you don't want to run cables throughout the house, then this Livewire kit is the perfect answer. Plug it in and start surfing!

5Lexus RX330 Headlight
By G-Force
I have a 2006 Lexus RX330 with stock halogen headlights. I wanted to convert my halogen headlights to using HID. To do this legally, I purchased these headlights that are intended for Japanese-built RX330 models. My RX330 was made in Canada, so I was a bit worried this part would not fit, however, it does - perfectly. In addition, my year and model is known to have headlight condensation problems in the stock factory headlights after it rains. Fortunately, I have seen no condensation after heavy rain in these replacements.Next, I purchased the HID bulbs and ballasts (Xtreme Kit) from [...] (formerly known as XenonDepot.com). Steve and Mike, from KbCarStuff, is AMAZINGLY helpful. Either of the two will normally be the ones to answer the phone and walk you through any trouble or questions. I read many positive reviews about them and their product on the Lexus Forums. Without them, I probably would not have gone through this whole process. Even though their product is slightly higher than others, I felt confident I was purchasing a reliable, high quality, product.I don't normally work on cars, so initially the intall was a bit of a pain. It does require loosening the front bumper, but if you read up on it in the Lexus Forums, this is simple. It'll take roughly 10 minutes to loosen the bumper and about another 45 minutes to figure out how to remove/install the headlight. It really isn't that difficult to install. I saved a lot of money by not going to a mechanic. The HID beams look great, with a nice, legal cutoff line so it does not blind oncoming drivers. These headlights are marked down at an extreme discount, so it is totally worth doing the conversion. STAY AWAY from RX330 "halo" eyes replacements found on eBay. It may work with the stock HID RX330, but not the stock halogen. (All vendors selling the "halo" replacement headlight is using the same product made by Eagle Eye. They will tell you it fits all RX330 models, when that is not entirely true. It should state HID stock models only).

4Love this machine. Great value. Not fancy.
By S. Eaton
I have a Pfaff quilters machine that died and needs parts. It is going to cost about double the cost of this machine to repair it. So I figured what the heck. I've been sewing since grade school in the 1960s and have used all sorts of machines. I also worked at a fabric store for a number of years. I have some advice for the beginner. Various reviews of this machine complain about some problems I thought I'd speak to here. This is a nice little machine. Initially even I had trouble with it. Discovered that the threading instruction picture in the instruction book is a bit tricky. Don't forget to thread the little bracket that is above the needle. It is step 7 in the book, but not obvious in the picture and not obvious on the machine. The thread first goes through the fairly obvious metal holder in step six, then it needs to go in that little tiny bracket, a small piece of metal that is laying on top of the needle mount. If you don't thread that, the thread will ball up underneath and mess up your sewing and lock up. I suggest stopping at a Joann Fabrics where they sell this machine and ask someone to show you if you can't find it. that's what I ended up doing. Also for the beginner, Singer machines in particular can also tangle the thread if you don't gently hold the ends at the beginning of a seam. Sometimes, it will pull the thread down into the bobbin area and lock up. This is solved simply by holding the ends for the first couple of stitches. Eventually, after you've had to rip out a few balled up seams, you remember.I made a heavy vinyl pouch with it as my first project, and it handled the vinyl really well. The feeddogs struggled a bit with the weight of the fabric, pulling it out of line, so I had to put the weight of the fabric on a chair so it didn't pull. Another tip for the beginner, always stop the machine with the needle in the fabric. You do this by stopping and quickly turning the wheel to get that needle back in the fabric.Another tip here to any new sewer. First take the original needle out of that machine and throw it away. You have no idea what kind of shape it is in. Open the packet of needles that are in the little door in the free arm and use a fresh needle. Sharp needles are critical to any project. And they only stay sharp for a few projects at most. When you are working with heavy fabric like vinyl or denim, you need to use a heavy duty needle, especially if you are going through four layers of denim. Check them out at the fabric store. Get the type of needle that matches your type of fabric. If you are not sure, ask. And sew through the thick parts very slowly, sometimes you may need to manually insert the needle and pull it up to get through a lot of layers properly to get the machine going. Take your time.Knits need different needles, sometimes, a ballpoint needle that passes between fibers instead of splitting them as you sew. Fine fabrics also need different needles and they must be very sharp.Whenever the stitching balls up under your piece, it is likely because the top or bobbin is threaded wrong. Make sure the thread is coming off the bobbin with the loose thread pointing to the left. It can be a bad needle. It can be a tension problem or a bad match between needle and fabric. If the stitches seem really tight, the tension can be turned a half number either way and solve the problem, but only after you have ruled out the other problems. IT happens to the best of us so don't get discouraged. Imagine me going into my old store to have them show me how to thread a machine. : )Beyond all that, I liked sewing with this machine. it is relatively quiet, and does sew fast. This will be great for doing piecing for quilts. It isn't the quality of my Pfaff, which is all metal (the skin of this machine is plastic) and doesn't have a lot of fancy stitches, but it is a great value for what it does do and does execute well for all I've done so far. And perfect for a beginner sewer, or someone who only needs a machine once in awhile to hem pants or take care of odd little projects or someone like me who was going through withdrawal when her machine dies and is going to take some time to get fixed.

3Singer 4411
By Michael
I am a self employed seamstress and I am very hard on machines, especially with hemming blue jeans and zippers in carhart coats and many other things. One thing I was looking for was an affordable product that was heavy duty. Singer is always a great brand and I watched videos on what this product can do, so I ordered it. Much to my dismay, I found that it wasn't any different than any other machine. Heavy Duty on this machine means nothing. It does do some of the things that they say but it does not go through all the layers of material that it says. Overall it is a fine machine, but it is not Heavy duty.

5LOVE SINGER PRODUCTS
By MimiNo1
Have been sewing since I was 8 years old and have owned Singer sewing machines. Purchased this new for my mom, who is 90 years young. Love this machine because it is heavy duty, sews 1100 stitches per minute and is easy for her to operate. I own tnree Singer sewing machines, and two sergers. My mom loves hers and quilts on it almost every day. Shopped around and found that Amazon offered the best price for this product. If you are looking for a great machine..easy to operate, has weight to it, suggest you purchase this one from AMAZON, of course. I definitely will be purchasing from them again...

4Middle-aged bike rider
By B. Dyer
I purchased the Pro Ultimate online 3 weeks ago. Observations: 1) Assembly 80 min. 2) Can be used by adults (250 pound wt. limit); easily adjusted to my 5'5" height. 3) This bike is for flat terrain ONLY and maybe very gentle slopes. 4) NOT for endurance or high fitness riding; there are no gears (picture Fred Flintstone!). However, it does glide well. 5) A great neighborhood cruising-type bike, and perfect for what I wanted it to do: light to moderate exercise AND being able to run the dog alongside for exercise. 6) Disappointment: after less than 3 weeks of riding about 5 miles per week, both back tires had to be replaced. One blew out and was worn down to the "mesh" all along the center zone. The other was almost as bad. Both back tires were of very poor quality. Customer Service gave me a partial credit towards new tires from a local bike shop, but this did not quite cover the whole cost. However, I did not want to hassle with returning the bike, especially since I thought I would get the same awful tires....and I liked the bike itself. Bottom Line: great for cruising on flat terrain, and perfect for exercising both the dog and a middle-aged fairly out-of-shape rider.....excellent stability since you are low to the ground........but you will most likely have to replace the tires.

1Serious design flaws really limit usefulness...
By B.I.G.
This bike is obviously for the very casual rider - not for any serious rider. Just the fact that it is a fixed gear ratio limits your top speed to somewhere around 3~4 mph. Even with that understanding, this bike is disappointing. With all the riders weight on the rear two wheels, there is virtually no weight on the traction wheel. The result is that the bike can't climb any sort of grade - especially if the roadway is at all damp or sandy. The steering mechanism also gives the bike an absurdly large turning radius. These two facts really render the bike useless even for casual riding.

4Traction front drive wheel
By Dennis Campbell
Only complaint I have with the Triton Pro is that even on dry pavement, with an adult, the front drive wheel will lose traction on a 5%+ incline. The weight distribution needs to be slightly increased over the front wheel. Perhaps by mounting the rear axle a couple of inches further back.Otherwise, a nice little machine easily assembled.Dennis

5Most Excellent Laptop Bag ever..
By Hans Blix
I ordered this a while ago, about 3 years now, from Amazon, on sale, and just because it was on sale..I had no idea about the brand and the functionality of this item..What a surprise. After 3 years, with few slight rips on side pockets, due to my carelessness, the bag is still holding up with my daily use with books and laptop.I cannot find any negative feedback about this bag, only to offer my criticism to Ohmetric for not manufacturing more of these types of bags..What is good about this bag, plain and simple:1-It is sturdy, as indicated above after 3 years, it is still functional and in tact, looks like it has been used for 3 months..I am yet to see other brands with the same quality..2-Laptop carrying design: laptop is placed inside a pouch on the rear of the bag (see the Amazon photo), means that if you backpack this, laptop is protected between your back and the front part of the bag with good cushioning, separated from the main compartment of the bag.. There is a hard tray in the this storage part which keeps the pouch straight and supported which can be taken out and used as a laptop rest, thus, if your laptop heats up underneath, protecting your lap.3-Carryon attachment functionality: This is a function I got compliments in airports from other business travelers..There is a put through piece on the back of the laptop, where you can slide in the pulling extension of any carry on bag. So, while you extended the carry on pull walking, you can put this bag through it securing it safely, and pull your carry on only and carry both pieces..it stay securely attached to any carry on..almost custom made..those of you who try to load carry on with small handbags on top but slip it and fail, you know what I mean..Bag does not move or falls down when attached to the carry one luggage. In fact, I would think that it would functional the same even with any regular luggage that has carry on type of extensions to pull. There are other minor design advantages but i wont need to talk about them..In conclusion, if you are looking for a very, but very good backpack that carries laptop safely and comfortable, do not even perform more searched on Amazon..Just buy this..I am not obsessed with items (except Macbook Air), yet, I cannot help but be very enthusiastic about this bag..My Verdict:DEFINITELY BUY IT !Thanks fort reading my feedback..

5No Complaints
By 8G1014
I initially purchased 3 of these from another popular electronics vendor for the estimators in our small construction services company. Two were installed on Windows 7 machines and worked perfectly right out of the box. One was installed on XP and did require me to adjust the resolution but not a big deal. There is no software to install and it seems you don't need it. It may load drivers from a chip inside the monitor but I'm not sure about that.We use them for business applications, not games or movies but they look amazing to me. We do look at videos taken by our field technicians and they look great. We tried to order two more less than two weeks later from the same retailer but they no longer carried them. Luckily I found them here for around the same price (well under $300.00)and the shipping was free and faster than I expected.I got one for myself and one for our mechanical engineer. After a few days using it I felt like my eyes were melting. It initially installs with the brightness all the way up. I reduced the brightness to 50% and it is much more comfortable to work in front of all day. I have recommended this to the other users and they also agree that it is entirely too bright at 100%.I found the menu buttons a little awkward to work with for adjusting brightness or other settings but I managed to figure it out without looking at the manual. I can't say whether the manual is well written or not because I never cracked it open. I just plugged everything in and it worked. No bad or stuck pixels that I have noticed on 5 installs.I would say for general purpose computing you can't go wrong with these if you need a lot of screen real-estate.They are almost too big for some desks but it is worth making the room. Once you get used to having this much screen to work with it is painful to work in front of an old 19" screen. In fact I ended up getting a 27" monitor for home as well though a different model. I got a View Sonic for home and I like it. It has no speakers. These have an audio input but the speakers sound pretty bad. We all have speakers at our workstations so its not an issue. If you're looking for a great big monitor for not a lot of money then get one of these. You won't regret it. Just plan on using seperate speakers.

4Visually Beautiful
By normstorm
This is a beautiful monitor for the color. The first one I got did have a stuck green pixel. Exchanged monitor and replacement is perfect. I also found that the sound wasn't working....Apparently the sound wont work if you are using HDMI. (Called Manufacturer) Don't worry though, the sound is horrible!!! I didn't buy the monitor for the sound quality anyhow. If you buy this and get black lines around the screen you will need to adjust your over scan on your video card to allow the displayed portion to reach the edges of the screen. If you do plan to use this via HDMI you will need to buy a cable as it doesn't come with one. I would definitely buy this monitor again if I needed another. AOC tech support is super friendly and easy to get a hold of too. 1-888-838-6388 USA

5Amazing Monitor!
By June Schreiber
Easy to set up, basically plug and play. I am not using the monitor speakers for HDMI because I have my own high end speakers. I was blown away by the colors this monitor produced with no tweeking. They are bright and rich! I couldn't wait to watch blu-ray Avatar...which took my breath away. I read other reviews saying that text was fuzzy without adjustment...no problem here. I am a 3d artist and animator so I couldn't wait to open one of my apps. It was amazing to have so much "real estate" to work on! I wholeheartedly recommend this monitor. The price is lower then most but that just adds to its appeal.

5Great for what it is
By Laurel
In case you got down to the reviews and didn't realize what you're looking at: the Brother MCFJ265W is color ink-jet, multifunction machine. It prints, scans, and faxes. It's wireless. It's an inkjet. It's pretty cheap.I assumed at first, that this was one of those scam printers which lure you in with price, but don't work very well and charge a wad for replacement ink. Not so! Within the realm of cheap inkjet printers, the output is plenty adequate. You can print photos in a pinch, but it's perfect for printing out maps, web pages, and other notes where color adds to the information. And the OEM replacement ink is reasonably priced, and available on Amazon.I use a Mac, and as far as I was concerned, set up was easy. There are several modes of wireless, as well as a USB cable connection. (Cable is not included.) There's an included CD with software, but I went to Brother's website and downloaded the latest version. Installing just the printer driver got me printer function, without any additional cruft. I had to install the TWAIN package to get scanner function, which put a little icon in the menu bar. (A *color* icon, actually, ruining the default-black OS X menubar look. Ahem.) And it locked up my menu bar at one point, freezing the clock and nearly making me late for an appointment. But other than that, I've had no problems. I no longer have it auto-load on login, and quit when I'm done with it, and that's been fine.Scanning was near miraculously easy. I pressed the scan button. The scanner operated. A file appeared in my "Pictures" directory. That's it. The scan was gorgeous, too.The printer prints reasonably fast. It's quiet. It doesn't vibrate or have any weird smells or do anything objectionable. Since it's inkjet, it doesn't take gobs of power to start up as a laser printer -- no flickering lights. The print quality is fine, but it's not as precise and high-contrast as a laser printer. If your business presence involves looking good on paper, you probably want to spend a bit more on your printer than this. For everyday household printing, though, this is easy, fast, cheap, and totally readable. There is no real output paper "tray" -- printed sheets just poke out the front, waiting to be taken. If you're printing more than a couple pages, there's a little tongue that can be extended to catch them, but I wouldn't let a whole lot of pages build up there. (Which you probably can't since the input paper tray isn't all that large either.)There's a very nice color LCD screen on the front, which makes setup easy. It even shows you a little animation of how to install the ink cartridges. The cartridges are easily loaded on the front side, behind a hinged door. Each of the three colors and the black are all separately replaceable. The starter ink claims to be "approximately 65%" of a full-sized cartridge, so the printer comes with about 290 pages worth of ink.Overall, as a household printer for everyday personal printing, I think this is a great choice.

3A reliable all in one printer
By Dustin Farahnak
EDIT: I needed to use this printer, and because one of the color ink cartridges was too low, the printer refused to perform a black and white copy or otherwise function whatsoever. I bought black ink, replaced that cartridge (noticing then that the old cartridge of black ink was full) and the printer still refused to perform a black and white copy because of the color ink level.I feel pretty clever because I figured out a rudimentary hack to override this ink check.Remove the ink cartridge and you will see a clear window on the top. The cartridge also compresses, exposing a clear vial with lines across it in the back of the cartridge. I took a black sharpie and colored both windows (doing one or the other alone didn't work) and the printer then allowed me to use it for faxing, scanning, copying, and black and white copies. I still intend to buy color ink, but sometimes I don't have time for that when I need this device to function. I know Brother's competition generally has the same practice (comment below if you know of an example that does not), but this is really too much for me to accept. I still stand behind the rest of my review, but I cannot call this a five star quality product. It's changed, in my estimation, from an excellent printer to just OK.-------------------Old review follows:Apologies in advance for a lengthy review. For some reason, I really like thinking about printers.I noticed that the printer's ink doesn't automatically show up on Amazon's ink finder yet. Ink cost is an important characteristic for any ink jet printer (in my opinion, by far the most important). It's $10-$15 to replace the black ink cartridge Brother LC61BK Ink Cartridge (Black). Off brand cartridges are available and inexpensive. 12 Pack. Compatible Brother LC-61 Cartridges. Includes Sophia Global Brand Cartridges for 3ea LC-61 of each Color Black Cyan Magenta Yellow. How many pages do you get? Believe it or not, but I printed about 300-350 pages per cartridge (3 cartridges total so far) before they started to gray in output and I switched back to my beloved Samsung Samsung ML-2525W Wireless Mono Laser Printer (the laser gets thousands of pages per toner cartridge, but then it's an entirely different category of product).I print an enormous amount of material, so it was easy to see how this printer performs economically. It's easily the most affordable per page inkjet I've ever used. A laser printer is cheaper, faster, and I like the quality, so bear that in mind if you're just planning to print black and white documents in large numbers. In fact, a limited paper tray makes printing more than 100 pages at once with this printer quite a hassle (most people see no issue here, I bet). I should mention that if you want your ink to last, use fast printing. I think the results were easy to read.Of course, this printer does a lot more than my b/w laser. I printed a couple of photos, and they were color accurate and looked pretty good (not excellent). Loading images from my Sony camera's memory stick was simple (you can load from USB or SD card). Frankly, I think it's very silly to print photos at home when the quality and price per picture is much better at a store nearby (my grocer's website makes it easy). However, the results are reasonably good at home. Color prints at high quality take an enormous amount of time. It felt like at least a minute per page, but I didn't time it. The black and white printing seems slow as well unless you use the fast mode, and even then, is slow when compared to a laser printer.I've always been highly annoyed with 'printer cleaning' that wastes a ton of ink. This printer does not waste much ink when performing this function.I sent a fax to my wife (who was very surprised as she didn't know we had a fax machine!). This sucker really is a great fax machine. It was very snappy with the scanning. If you're running a business and worry about employees not being familiar with the fax machine, this is a very, very good one (it's so simple to use). And onto the scanning. I consider the quality of this scanner to be outstanding! It's the strongest aspect of this all-in-one. Colors were accurate. Everything is sharp.Of course, all of these features (except the fax) are tied together with its wi-fi interaction. And this is where I initially ran into problems. The CD's included software failed to complete installation, repeatedly (I use Windows 7). I find this unacceptable, but it's my only major gripe. I downloaded a newer version from Brother's website and that installed. You can log into your network from the printer's screen and keypad, either putting it in a mode where the software sets it up for you, or punching in your router login. The process is easy for people familiar with their network's equipment, but I think the process could confuse a few people. The printer's reception is acceptable, but it's not as strong as some of my other devices. One of the benefits of 802.11 N is increased range, but this printer is 802.11 B/G. Most people will simply keep this near their router and never experience a problem. For scanning or faxing, I think this is good enough for any user. It isn't a professional photo printer and it's not as effective for high volume printing as a laser printer, but it's certainly not bad. And in all functions, I found it easy to use. Before you consider a different brand, please consider the cost to refill the ink cartridges. I always review Vine products (or anything else) with the price in mind, and I believe this is a strong value for around $100.

4Great for the price!
By gmbyphotographer
I calculated it out, and it was actually cheaper to buy this NEW PRINTER than buy overpriced ink cartridges for my noisy ancient HP printer. (I still can't get over that!)Pros:1. Cost: great for price, especially considering it's functionality2. Scanner: pretty good quality considering, but again, I'm used to my fossil of a printer... obviously wouldn't be the best for applications requiring intense scanning capabilities, but for everyday use, awesome3. WIRELESS: Sorry, but this concept to me is still astounding. "you mean, I can have my printer on the other side of the house and still print things from it?!" Much better than keeping the printer within two feet of the computer, and it reduces the number of unmanageable tangled cords by at least one [no usb connection needed] (two [power cord] if you located the printer away from the computer)4. Fax, though I don't use it (or have a main line for that matter) is a nice additional feature. Maybe once they (maybe they already have) figure out a way to attach cell phones or go over the internet, this will be more useful for me. Still, good feature for others needing this, as fax is still a pretty common form of communication and document sharing.5. Separate color ink cartridges: FINALLY! I hate having my HP color cartridge run out of ONE color and then having to figure out how to use it still; there's still two colors of ink in there... but they're pretty useless for full color images (and you better hope you don't forget which one of the three it is). Now they're all separate and easy to get to (front flap folds down) and change.6. Cheap off-brand ink cartridges: Unlike other companies (cough cough) there seems to be an abundance of off brand ink cartridges for Brother printers... which is good! Saves you a LOT of money, as long as you're willing to put up with a dud every once in a while (for the money... about $1 per cartridge... it's totally worth it). Additionally, the pages per cartridge for this printer is much higher than HP's 21 and 22 cartridges- making the price per cartridge even more enticing.7. LCD screen: it's in color! I didn't realize when I bought- nice surprise.Cons:1. hidden paper tray: I was initially very excited about this feature... so tired of papers sticking out of the printer and getting bent, folded, dusty, dirty, etc. However, it doesn't hold as many sheets as I would have hoped and it gets jammed a lot. I've used the printer for three days now, and of all three times, it got jammed twice. Hey, maybe it's just user error, but I re-read the directions, just to make sure I wasn't being an idiot.2. Wireless: Wait, yes, I did have this listed as a pro above, but I at least HAVE to mention that obviously if your internet/router/service goes down, you literally can't print unless you manually haul the thing back over to your computer and dig out a usb cord. I know, not the end of the world, but still, a bit frustrating.3. EVERY time it gets manually connected to a wireless network, it prints out this sheet saying so... completely stupid and not very sustainable.. plus it just wasted some of your ink and a page of paper. Can you stop this? I'm sure. However, it's still frustrating... especially for a sheet of paper you're just going to throw out anyways(or cut up and recycle as notes!).4. Footprint: I was hoping it would be a bit smaller (I realize the dimensions are listed). It's still massive on my bookshelf.5. Noise: I was hoping for a decently quiet machine... while this is quieter than my last printer, it's still pretty loud.Overall: Good product for the price- The pros outweigh the cons, and seriously, some of those cons aren't even much of an issue. For someone who's just looking for something that prints and not necessarily too concerned about professional prints and a little noise (aka. students, home office?, etc.), this is a good deal. Again, especially for the price. Compared to others in it's $$ range, this probably has the most bang for the buck (gadget wise and cheap ink.. if nothing else)

5Best bang for the buck
By Better pictures
This is about the smoothest running video card I've had in a long time. The past 6 years ATI has been my exclusive video card manufacture starting with the ATI X800 pro through the Radeon 1GB 4800 VC. After about 2 years with my 4800 it was starting to get long in the tooth with some of the newer titles this year. I originally wanted to go with ATI's 5850 model but the increase in price and high temps turned me off from ATI's products. I looked at Nvidia's GTX 470 VC but like the 5850 high temps, price, and power consumption turned me off. I was going to settle on the 5850 until this card came out, much better FPS per dollar, cooler temps, lower power consumption, and better over clocking abilities made this purchase a no brainer.ProsCheap for what you get in performance, easy to install and very stable drivers at this point. Went from 48 FPS on my 4800 in Dirt 2 to 74 FPS over clocked. Speaking of overclocking I pushed the core to 800 MHZ, shaders to 1600 MHZ, and memory to 3900 MHZ stable with low temps around 65C playing Crysis. In terms of performance over clocked it performs on par if not a little better than the 5850 depending on what game and probably about 10 percent behind the GTX 470 which is not bad for cards that cost $50-100 more. Biggest reason why I got this card is because of 3D displays coming out in the near future something you can't get fully using ATI/AMD products.Cons:1st, Nvida's control panel is sloppy and slow, while the drivers so far has proven to be stable I can't stand how unresponsive Nvida's control panel is. 2nd reason why I switched to ATI only the past 6 years was card failures from Nvidia. My Gefore 2 MX, Gefore 4 TI 4400, and Gefore 6600 GT all failed in 8 months or less, not good when you are paying $300 plus for some of those cards. 3rd, this card is not that much faster than my 4800 playing DX9 or 10 games. I would say default settings its only about 25 percent faster, overclocked probably around 30-35 percent. This not really a con, I just prefer buying mid to high cards when it becomes 50 percent or more faster than my current.Other thoughts:If you got $225-250 laying around and have a VC slower than a 4800 or Geforce 260 than this card is right one for you, it's fast, cheap, and efficient in both size and power consumption.

5Amazing Budget Card
By Philip H. Li
This is an amazing budget card. First a little background. nVidia's 400 series has a reputation for running extremely hot. The 470 and 480 were released, based on the GF100 processor, and although they offered great performance, they were expensive, high end parts, and they ran really hot. They tried to create a budget card, the 465, by taking a 470 and cutting some of its processing power, but the result was a crappy, still hot card. Then nVidia released the 460, based on a new processor (GF104) and new design, and it was an instant winner. It ran nice and cool, and with a little bit of overclocking, could easily beat the much more expensive 465 cards, while still running much cooler and sucking less power. The MSI 460 GTX is a great card, using the awesome 460 chip. It performs great, runs nice and cool, and is amazingly quiet. Reviewers have shown that this card can overclock just as well as any other, although I haven't had the need to yet simply because the card runs everything I play amazingly smoothly. One common complaint with this card, and other cards with similar heatsink designs, is that the hot air isn't vented out of the case, but rather is allowed to recirculate inside the case. Honestly, this isn't a problem, and is actually a pro for me. A lot of reviews and tests have shown that graphics cards with vented exhausts tend to be significantly louder, and may not necessarily offer improved cooling. Combined with a case that has great airflow (I'm using an Antec Nine Hundred Two), this should not be an issue ever, especially on a card that runs this cool.Setup-----Case: Antec Nine Hundred TwoPSU: Corsair CMPSU-750TX 750WMotherboard: Biostar T5XE CFX-SLICPU: Intel Core i5-760RAM: A-DATA 2x2GB DDR3-1600Heatsink: Cooler Master Hyper 212+Graphics: MSI N460GTX-1GD5Hard Drive: WD Caviar Blue WD6400AAKS (x2, Raid 0)

5Best mid-high range card available for the price
By J. Hamilton
Material construction: *****- Military grade components are manufactured to higher thermal tolerances than reference version.- Heavy heatsink efficiently dissipates thermal energy even when card is under maximum stress.- Durable board, quality component work, solid connectors.- Fan runs fast and stays quiet, and it as well as its bearings are very durable.Driver availability/compatibility: *****- OEM and current Nvidia drivers are stable with this card right out of the box; no need to spend days researching which driver(s) to use for which applications and/or Operating Systems. Nvidia finally perfected a hardware design that's flexible enough to work and perform EXCELLENTLY with the vast majority of supported drivers - contrary to the past, in which only a handful worked at all without severe glitches, and even fewer offered good performance on top of that. This card series continues to open the high-perf Nvidia market to inexperienced users... without setting them up for catastrophic failure.- Fully DX11 capable.Overclocking potential: *****- Slight overclock out of the box per manufacturer; easily overclockable to near 1ghz with air cooling only, due mostly to the best stock heatsink and fan on any video card today (combined with the fact that the 460 chip runs very cool relative to others offering the same level of performance). Decent overclocking utility included with product - even inexperienced users should be able to figure it out, provided they take it in small steps.Multi-gpu scalability: *****- 256bit card scalability is off the charts; running two of these cards in SLI, I have been unable to force a drop in framerates below 40-60 in the highest-demanding games currently available. (SLI 3DM score approaching 20,000 right out of the box, before any additional overclocking is performed). AMAZING.Value vs equivalent ati card: *****- Similar price points, but even the reference version of the 460 is better constructed, runs cooler, has better drivers, better scalability and performs better in both benchmark + real world tests in high modes w/AA. If you don't care how your apps/games look and can get an ATI for at least $40-50 less than this, then I'd go for it. If you don't have that kind of insane luck with sales or package deals - or if you just prefer running in high-detail, Nvidia has always been and continues to be the only way to go.Price vs performance: *****+- If I could give this 6 stars, I would. With a slight overclock, this card outperforms newer cards (costing $50-200 more) easily - some of which don't have the OC potential or scalability as this one, and certainly wouldn't run as cool/stable if they did. Realistically speaking, any but an extreme gamer (such as myself) will never be able to stress this card to the point it would be noticeable, even without overclocking. Throw 2 of these in SLI and overclock to your heart's content, and even as a gamer you'll have no *reason* to upgrade for at least another 2-3 years.NOTES: Keep in mind that you DO need either a fast, current-gen dual core (MINIMUM) or, better yet, a quad-core processor to keep up with this card. Any less than that and you won't be able to take advantage of its potential, and will probably experience noticeable CPU bottlenecking if you plan on pushing it.Also, buy this (Cyclone) rather than the Hawk version by MSI; you can easily overclock it higher than the Hawk's presets yourself, not to mention this fan+heatsink is much better, AND you are already running a quality PSU (... right!?) so have no need for Phase 7+1. With the Cyclone, you get the same product with a better thermal profile.BONUS: Combine this card with a hybrid-SLI capable nVidia motherboard with a PhysX-capable (Geforce 8+) onboard GPU to take advantage of Hybrid SLI for dedicated PhysX processing. With at least 4-8GB of DDR3 system memory (important!) and a quad core processor, you can get up to 10-30% better graphics performance under heavy stress, without having to buy another video card. (Free power just for using Nvidia components? Thanks!)

5Gorgeous Rug!
By Donna
I absolutely love this rug and the price is definitely unbeatable. For the past year I have been looking for this exact rug, or at least something similar, but didn't want to spend $400 for it. Then I came across this one on Amazon and I was thrilled. Had to wait 5 weeks to receive it as it was on back order, but it was well worth the wait!!!

5Beautiful
By Vicky J. Dean
Rug is beautiful - slightly more mocha and teal than the picture shows - but it is lovely and with a good pad feels great.
