Nice Potential - Even with its Limitations.
By Latimer the Cat
Very impressive true RMS DMM (with qualifiers).Just from its ease of reading and mufti-functioning capacity, it's very impressive. It's fairly easy to dial into the applicable function that's needed. Its OLED display is a breeze to read in low light conditions and the digits are very easy to read at compounded viewing angles. In addition to the normal DMM functions, it reads Capacitance, Temperature, and has Frequency measurement capacity, although somewhat limited. It also has a limited Square Wave output that can be real handy. Why did I pull two stars?- One for price given its point of origin. It's made in Malaysia. With the labor cost at pennies on the dollar (pardon the pun as the dollar is only worth a few pennies if that much now) it would be nice to see a fair reflection in its final cost as-opposed-to the status-quot of milking every penny from the public in the name of unbridled zionist or anti-fascist corporate profiteering.- One for quality control. The clear laminate protecting the OLED display has dust? or something under it that I find distracting. (A clean assembly process issue.) That this unit made it through final assembly and Q.C. is nonsense. In addition to that annoyance, the 7.2v - 8.4v trickle-charger included for the DMM's occasionally necessary battery charges doesn't work. Thankfully I was able to get the meter to work by charging the necessary battery via other methods that are available to me.I'm going to have to wast time (create another on-line account) to send it back for warranty service. HP's customer service is NOT known for it's easy, intuitive and expeditious characteristics.

Really like mine

The OLED screen makes reading a breeze. With other MM's it's possible to miss the top of a number when trying to read the meter from a "less than direct" point of view i.e. 7's can look like 1's, 9's and 4's etc. This is my first mm and having it come with a very recent calibration with documentation was nice, the cal date was a month prior to my purchase. This meter will do more than I'll ever use it for but the beautiful nerdness of it earns points. Mechanics spend money and take pride in their tools this is a meter I'm constantly asked about and constantly asked to use it, shouldn't add to the stars but it makes me happy to have in my toolbox, locked. Agilent offers bluetooth connectivity which sounds silly at first but, having it now its hard to reason why not to have it. Set it up step away to power up and look at my phone rather than running back to see the reading then running back to shut down. It's a rare occasion but when you need it its great. My charger reliably and relatively quickly charges my meter every time.It is a rather expensive meter and only time will tell if it is worth the price, 2 months strong. I will update if i begin to notice something odd or that would lower my rating, until then it's a solid 5 stars.
