Great flashlight - nice and bright but poor high/low switch

This is a good quality flashlight with a nice bright spot beam but with enough spread to give the user a nice glow in the immediate area.There is a 'jumper' located in the back of the spot head which you can use to adjust the brightness level between low and high, but you'll need a screw driver to get at it and switch it which, if you think of it, is really stupid engineering but I have seen a number of low profile switches on the internet that I can get to put into the back of the spot head and replace the jumper which will allow me to switch brightness levels without having to remove a plastic panel in the middle of the night with a Phillips screwdriver which I most likely won't have handy to begin with. I pretty much imagine that will void any warranty but if I have to grab the flashlight and chase after livestock in the middle of the night, I'm not going to have time to unscrew a plastic panel, fiddle with a tiny jumper, put it back together and then tend to the "emergency"... what were they thinking. Beyond that engineering "brilliance", the flashlight seems to be of a great quality and durability. I like the fact that I can have it mounted in the charging cradle by the door for instant - fully charged - use.2/1/12 follow-up:I've been using the flashlight now for 3 months on a daily basis and while I've not had an occasion to use it for more than 30 minutes at a time, it has performed flawlessly. I love the fact that I can grab it from the charging cradle mounted on the wall by the door and run. I had on one occasion used it on the roof to peer down the chimney while playing chimney sweep and when it slipped from my hands I cursed about a half dozen times before it landed on the cement patio easily 12 feet below. I was very, very pleased to find, upon retrieving it, that the flashlight not only worked but I really couldn't find a nick, a chip, a crack or a scratch on it. Bumping my review up by a star to 4. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because of the 'goofy' way one is expected to change the brightness from low to high and back.

Not Bright Enough

Thought this light would be awesome. Compared to a vector light costing three times less, this streamlight output is weak. Its like having an over sized battery on a small flashlight.

I recommend this light for anyone wanting a real Quality product that puts out a LOT of Light. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because of weight. I did not realize it would be as heavy as it is. If you don't mind the carrying weight or plan on not carrying it any great distance, this Flashlight is 5-stars in regards to quality and price. Good Luck, Mate!
