4works as I expected on Canon 7D body
By Jean Charles Astie
For the price, this lens worked exactly as I would have expected. To get the best 3D image possible it helps to precisely align the left and right images after they are shot in Photoshop or a dedicated 3D image editor. Fortunately my 7D has enough resolution that I can back far enough way from my subject and after cropping still end up with two 1920x1080 images from the single frame. When shooting video, you'll have to live with a "portrait" cropped image. I would love for Canon to come out with a higher quality version of this lens. Ideally, they would also have a "squashed" version that would allow recording of full frame video like Panasonic has announced for their consumer camcorders.

5Best 3D lens out there!
By David Bermudes
3D is a very tricky art. I've been using this lens for over a year and I've been very satisfied with the results. At first I was mad that there was no zoom on the lens and that my options for f-stop we're 11,16,and 22. But there is a reason behind this and I'm not so mad any more. I've learned the "sweet spot" for shooting stereoscopic and I've learned how to print 3D holograms.....the only thing I haven't learned is how to market 3D portraits to potential clients. You really are going to need some basic photoshop skills in order to peruse 3d. You are taking an image of one object from two different angles onto one sensor, there is going to be a little bit of bleed and you will need to separate the image in two.

4Good product, but could be better
By G. Istvanic
I played with this lens a lot. Its focal length is 40 mm is its strong limitation. I tried attaching two Neewer 58 mm 0.45 X wide angle converters. As expected, they create vignetting, but I can live with it, since I can correct it in Lightroom.I give this product the rating of four because I think that the 58 mm filter thread which I used to attach my wide angle converter could be more enforced with stronger material. The Neewer wide angle converter comes with its own rear end 58 mm cap whose material is stronger than that of the 3D lens material where the 58 thread is placed. As a mechanical engineer I would recommend that part of the lens to be of the stronger material.Using wide angle converter made this lens more useful, and I believe that improving that part of the lens would be very beneficial, and enhance lens' usability.
