Transcend Ex Hard Drive

This is the third Transcend External Hard drive I have ordered..This company produces good products.. I have different uses for each one..One I use for a total backup-One I carry with me and the other is used for an extra drive..I have never had a problem with this brand...

Worst harddrive I've ever purchased

This was, by far, the single worst hard drive I've ever bought. It worked fairly well for the first 2 weeks, sometimes a sporadic error message would appear that the "device had been unplugged" while it was definitely still attached to the computer, the hard drive would vanish from my dock and I'd need to unplug-replug it in again to get it to show up; pretty annoying, but not the end of the world. Then, this started happening more and more frequently, as a test I plugged the hard drive into another computer, the same thing happened within about 5 minutes. Now, the device doesn't even appear on my desktop any longer, it just wont show up.I've tested it on other computers, nothing shows up, I have an extensive amount of work on the device that I'm not sure how to recover. I've owned this thing for about 3 months, thats a totally unacceptable amount of time between purchase and outright device failure. Do not buy this thing, its a waste of money and obviously not a quality product.
