One tough engine

Briggs made a winner with this engine. It's the lowest-horsepower in this engine family, so it's TOUGH.I am replacing mine after 9 years of 4-season/year abuse cuting 50" swaths of grass, brush and scrub in the warm months and blowing 42" swaths x 250-300 inches of heavy lake-effect snow in the cold months. This beast of an engine was stalled on MANY occasions, and every part of this tractor was replaced except the engine; the tractor's never been garaged and the engine just kept running.Finally, with a ping|BANG it threw something through the crankcase wall. I stopped the engine, then, figuring what the heck, started it up and ran it to the barn... blowing oil and smoke, but humming along like it had not just blown. Instead of rebuilding, I am buying a replacement engine expecting it will last another 8-10 years. This is one tough engine!
