works with 3TB drive

I had a lot of trouble finding something that would support a 3TB drive. This one shows all 3TB to the operating system! It's a nice case, has every imaginable port for hooking it up to your computer. I have mine hooked up to a Mac right now.I would have given 5 stars but it is a little expensive. However, that was not enough to deter me from ordering another...

All around great enclosure

There were a couple of complaints about the predecessor to Macally's new firewire enclosure. The GS350SUAB only had one Firewire 800 port and some complained of a weak power supply that wouldn't power high capacity drives. It looks like Macally has addressed both these issues with the GS350SUAB2. Instead of two Firewire 400 ports, it has two Firewire 800 ports (as well as a single Firewire 400) and mine shipped with a 3 amp power supply, which has been plenty for the 2TB Hitachi drive I installed in this enclosure. Since I was mainly interested in Firewire 800 connectivity, I was glad to see an included cable, which is expected at this price. The two stand options included are a nice touch. Connected to my iMac 24" via Firewire 800, I can hear the drive go to sleep when I sleep the computer and it remains mounted even after waking from sleep.Pros:Beautiful enclosureTwo Firewire 800 portsPower button on frontCons:Pricier than bare-bones alternatives10/23/12 UpdateThis enclosure is still going strong despite being banged around some by a toddler who was reaching behind the desk. As was noted in a comment, FW800 is backward compatible with FW400, so I have removed one of my cons to correct this misunderstanding on my part. Pricing has come down on this unit, but USB 3.0 has also become more wide-spread (which this unit lacks), so I am leaving my rating at 4 stars.

Best Enclosure for Mac, even for PC users

- Very easy to set up, you just remove the screws, the bottom part, insert the HD and that's it.- The quality is great. The aluminum helps the enclosure to control temperature. The materials in general makes it look very elegant. Maybe the blue light is not that fancy but it stands out a lot so you can check its status. So the price fits correctly.- Its very fast, it takes a few seconds to mount. I just pressed the power button and there's the disk on the desktop. I use a Western Digital 2 TB Caviar Green SATA Intellipower 64 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Desktop Hard Drive WD20EARS which is the one amazon recomends and it works perfectly. I partitioned the disk like this: 500gb (time machine) 1.5 gb for data. My Macbook Pro instanly mounts both disk and work at the same time. I use firewire 800 and the speeds are as advertised. I even connect it to a Hp Pavilion through e-sata, the PC recognized only the data partition and it took 1 min to transfer 6gb.So don't hesitate to buy it because of it's price. The price is worth it. You get 2 firewire 800, 1 fw 400, e-sata and USB. IT COMES ALONG WITH ALL THE CABLES SO YOU DONT NEED YO BUY ANYTHING EXTRA.The design is beautiful, performance is perfect, deserves 10 stars.

Excellent snare stand

I upgraded my 800 series hardware recently, and the last item I replaced was my snare stand.I was surprised at how versatile this one is. There are so many adjustments you can make, and the snare just feels a lot more secure in its basket in this stand. It doesn't wobble at all when I hit the drum.It's a bit pricey compared to some of the other models out there, but the Gyrolock lets you position the stand in some many more positions, it's really worth the extra money.

Out "Stand" ing!

Note: Keep in mind that this is a short stand. If your seated drumming position is higher or you use a shallow snare, I'd suggest going with the taller version.Now the review:This is an excellent piece of equipment, that offers a ton of customability. The gyro allows you to place the snare in a ton of micro positions to suite your playing style and position preferences without fear of slip.I would have given this stand a 5 star rating if it had radially ajustable basket arms. That's really the only thing this stand is missing. What I mean by this is... the arms are positioned the same way most snare stands are... 60 degrees between each of the 3 arms. Each of these arms tighten around the snare hoop at the same rate as you tighten the basket. This often makes it difficult for you to place the through-off in a comfortable position and still be able to seat the snare properly in the stand. Not unlike most snare stands... you'll often find that you need to compromise on through-off placement because one of the rubber grommets is contacting a hoop lug instead of the lower hoop itself.The Pearl S2000 allows you to slide each arm radially to adjust the hoop-holding rubber grommets individually. If you need this type of adjustment capability... I'd suggest going with the S2000. If you don't have a problem with the way your snare fits into your current stand, and you're just looking for a great solid replacement... this is a great choice.

Low Slung - Perfect for Deep Snare

I'm a Tama drummer, not Pearl, but when I switched to a deep snare, my Roadpro sat it up too high. So after doing a little research, I saw good reviews for the Pearl low snare stand although I must admit, I was put off by the price tag. But once I received it, it's pretty heavy duty and I found I could position my snare in every way I needed. Very versatile. The moving components operate smoothly and the rubber "hands" grip the snare snugly. Now my deep snare sits just right and with proper care, this stand should last for many many years to come. I went ahead and gave it 5 stars despite the price because it solved a major problem for me and is of good quality.

Finally my closets are organized.

I recently bought this multipurpose closet kit because it said it had deep shelving (16") and I must say, it was a great purchase. The closet kit was really easy to install. Once I put up the track and the vertical supports, it was as simple as putting in the brackets and snapping in the shelves. The shelves gave me plenty of room to store my winter clothes and there was plenty of hanging space for all of my clothes. The system seems really durable and looks great which is an added bonus.

Design is worse than Closetmaid, more on a cheap side.Chipped paint and unpainted areas on some pieces; not enough vinyl tips to account for all 4 supplied shelves.

Just what my craft room needed

Although it's advertised for use in a closet, I put two sets of these up in a small multi-purpose craft room. Since I live alone and am arthritic it was great to have such an easy installation... you really only need two hands. I wanted deep shelves to hold lots of supplies, boxed tools (like Dremels) and even sewing machines while not in use. Since the bar in the front allows for hangers, I've used traditional pant hangers to store bulk fabrics but the front bar also serves to hold "s-hooks" for easy access to quilting templates and other long items that won't fit in a drawer. Under shelves that I hung high (for "dead storage"), I hung pegboard for other tool/supply storage. Since the shelves are wire, the aren't heavy in their look or heavy to handle so my small room is not claustrophobic. I had NO issues with quality. The hardest part was positioning the shelves on the brackets which just takes a few minutes of manipulating but they lock in tightly. All-in-all, I'm very pleased.
