Accept no compromise - this is the best you can buy!

First this is not a red dot sight as shown in the title heading. It took me more than 18 months to find the quality and durability I was looking for. I ordered (and returned) the usual stuff like Eotech with multipliers, if you are more interested in gadgets than those may do just fine. The concept of adding multipliers and add-ons just appear clunky to me... more stuff that can go wrong and requires adjustment. Swinging the multiplier away and in front of another optic remains a half baked (or bad) solution. Elcan has a patent on the throw lever mechanism and clearly understands that the user will use the magnification only at both extremes of the spectrum; 1x and 4x.The optics leave all the other manufacturers in the dust, both in clarity and size. The illuminated reticle works perfectly, the BDC is correct. The housing is made out of a magnesium alloy, much stronger than anything else out there.Just holding the Elcan, communicates that this is a piece of quality made to real milspec standards (not just some marketing slogan). The Eotechs and others just feel like junk in comparison. You get what you pay for and this lasts a lifetime. Buy the best and buy it only once!

i had the EOTECH with 3x magnifying scope before i bought this,, and this Blows the EOTECH out of the water,, if you are looking to extend your effective range,, if you are just looking at Close quarters actions, EOTECH is less expensive and lighter. but being able to throw the lever and go to 4x with Bullet drop Compensator is IDEAL. but you pay for it

if you were thinking about an eotech with a multiplier, don't! THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT. Do some research and you 'll end up with one of these instead.
