Stinky

I am re-doing my son's bedroom and he wanted a western/cowboy theme. When I came across this quilt I just knew it was the one. I just got my quilt and it is beautiful, the colors and fabric are perfect. It is lightweight, but it comes with a terrible odor that stunk up the house(awful). I don't know if I can get rid of that smell. It will be a shame to have to return it, but we can't stand the smell. I guess a few washes and some strong fabric softener?
