This is a great space saving bed with well made drawers & a bookcase headboard.It is difficult to assemble, with NO words and pictures only.The drawers can go on either side of the bed which is so nice. It is solidwood & good quality. We are very glad we purchased it.

Nice Bed, But Assembly Can Be A Pain

I ordered the double set of these beds with a nightstand for my sons room on Monday Oct. 1st with the expected ship / arrival date supposed to be between Oct. 12-22. I was very pleasantly surprised when I received notice that the beds had shipped and would arrive by truck on Wednesday, Oct. 3rd. The trucking company arrived with the beds before Noon on Oct. 3rd and I found everything was very well packed for shipping in 7 boxes on one pallet. We carried the boxes separately into the garage and they were not particularly heavy, just a little awkward. The driver was nice enough to help carry in some of the pieces, though he is not required to and one person CAN carry the boxes if need be. Even the long drawer sections were not that heavy to lift and carry.Moving the bed pieces after unpacking was simple. I would suggest that you take the 6 drawers out of each drawer section before moving it. It makes the drawer frame very easy to move and you can even stand it on end to get through tight areas if need be. The drawers themselves are on metal rails, have nylon rollers and slide very easily in and out. They have to be tilted to get them out or into the frame, so once in you don't have to worry about the kids pulling the drawers all the way out accidentally. The drawers are 18" wide, 15" deep and about 6" inches high, so the boys got quite a bit of clothing and other things into them.The beds themselves have a beautiful finish and are wood (pine), not particle board. They are manufactured in Vietnam, not the U.S., if that is important to you. The assembly of each of the beds was pretty painless, except for 3 out of 4 side support rails had the two inside holes on each end not cut out quite deep enough to allow the half-moon shaped nuts to align with the bolts. I had to drill out the holes to make them large enough for the bolts to fit through and line up with the nuts so they could be secured properly. Not a big deal, but annoying and it should not be necessary. The other support rail went together perfectly, but apparently there may be a quality control issue with the actual manufacturer. The rest of the assembly was painless and I assembled the beds by myself with no other problems. The instructions are easy to follow, despite not having anything but images and no written instructions. The assembly hardware comes packaged together and even has a couple of extra pieces included in the event something is missing or defective, a nice touch.I would recommend you have a drill with a small bit to make pilot holes for some of the screws, since there are no pilot holes pre-drilled in the beds, including where you mount the door hinges and the magnetic lock at the end of the beds. You will also need it to assemble the bed frame supports, as again there are no pre-drilled pilot holes. The bed slats are attached together by nylon straps and easily spread evenly across the supports and they are pre-drilled for the screws to secure them to the bed frame.There were a couple of minor scratches on one bed. I contacted Factory Estores and they immediately shipped out a wood filler and touch up pen kit. Good customer support.The beds seem very solid, though lightweight, and the boys using them are in their early teens and like the support and comfort of the beds. I wondered if the slats would be strong enough to support the weight of teens, but everything seems to be strong and well made.I would have rated these beds as 5 stars, considering the speed of the shipping and the overall quality of the product, but the poor quality control that made drilling necessary needs to be addressed to the manufacturer. Definitely not a deal breaker by any means! Nice beds and we are very pleased. By the way, the night stand that comes with the beds is also well made and come totally assembled with the same drawer construction as the bed drawers. Since we needed two of these beds, it was WAY cheaper to buy the special of two beds and the nightstand.

We have three kids in one large bedroom...these beds work perfectly for them. We don't have to find room to keep dressers in the room because all of there clothes fit underneath in the drawers. They also love the cubby hole under the bed....gives them someplace to hid out. Very sturdy and able to withstand 3 very rowdy boys. I would defintely purchase these again
