Good beater, project or starter guitar

I have a few other guitars and I bought this guitar purely as a project guitar, to mod and upgrade. I figured that I wouldn't even plug the guitar in before I did surgery to it, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good the setup was on this guitar out of the box. Plugged in its pretty twangy and thin sounding (not bad cos thats the opposite of my main guitars that are hollow), unless you distort it or turn on the boost option then its all growl. Its got a fairly thin neck so its pretty fast. This is by no means a professional grade guitar, but for a lite little "around the house" guitar to pickup at the desk and jam with or to upgrade, or even a starter guitar its good. The only cons I can think of are the frets can be a bit sharp, If buying this for your kid you may want to take it in and have a tech fix that, cos if a kid cuts himself on it, it'll be hard to get them back to playing it. So lesson is if you know how to fix up guitars or can spend the extra $60 on taking it in to get set up its an OK guitar.

First Act is the new Fender

Whoever says this guitar is a beater, or a project guitar, or somewhat not ready for shows, is surely someone who is not proficient in music, or simply does not know instruments well enough. I am a young musician, under 20 years old, but I am a professional who plays shows and tours the world, and I have always loved First Act because it is a 100% American company with the small business principles and ethics that have made our nation so wonderful. This guitar is **great**. It has the First Act built-in pre-amp system, something that I have tested before, and the very nice electronics that always come as standard in all their instruments. I am convinced old companies like Fender or Gibson have nothing that First Act doesn't have. This guitar in particular is heavy, strong, very resilient-looking, and comes in a very nice toy-like box with all instructions, as these instruments are usually targeted toward students. This guitar is My Toy, so the box is appropriate. I am exceedingly happy with my purchase, and the price of course was the most fun part of the entire transaction. This is a professional guitar, designed for students, then again: aren't we musicians bound to be eternally students of Music?
