There are no corner gaps to bite. Once in a while a dog will bite through a leg or side piece but it is quite rare. This image shows how the fabric fits into the frame of the bed so your dog cannot reach the fabric. Caution: Fabrics are vulnerable to tearing by persistently scratching or digging dogs..-All depends on the dog. Wooden beds look nice and are quite comfortable but are not for chewing dogs or outside use. The all aluminum is our strongest and most durable but most around the home dogs will be fine on either the poly or metal beds. For boarding kennels and shelters we recommend the poly resin or all aluminum framed beds.. Includes: -Standard legs included to enable use of bed outside of crate as well. It works well and the dogs love it

If you have a dog that is crate-trained and a chewer, this is the bed for you. My dogs (two Vizslas) get lots and lots of exercise every day, are treated like members of the family, get all kinds of attention and yet one of them will chew anything in his crate that he can get his teeth on.After a series of increasingly expensive unhappy experiences with so-called "chew proof" dog beds, I found these. I chose the PVC tubing and the 40 ounce vinyl fabric but you can also order aluminum tubing (at significantly increased cost) and a variety of other fabrics. You can also specify three-inch legs for crate use or six-inch legs for use on the floor.The beds arrive in pieces but take only minutes to assemble. The fabric is cut to size and pockets are stitched along all four sides. These contain thin PVC tubes and slip into the larger PVC tubes which have slots cut into them their full length as you can see in the illustration. Attach the legs with stainless steel hardware and you're done. You have just assembled a bed with no exposed fabric edges, seams or cut tubing ends to attract those canine cuspids.The dogs were a bit uncertain of their footing for about 20 seconds when they first stood on the fabric. I suspect it felt a bit like a water bed. But in less than a minute they settled and now choose to take their naps on these beds rather than on the sofa or the people beds--another small blessing.After some months of use, I have noticed that the tubing is bent a little inward toward the center of the bed on the long sides; a consequence of the weight of the dog on the fabric. No matter, the fabric remains suitably taut and there is no evidence of cracking or deterioration of the tubing. If you would be bothered by that, choose the aluminum tubing option which is, I believe, designed primarily for commercial kennels.Chewing in the crate is over, at least in our household. The dogs love their beds and we love the fact that when they need cleaning we can just prop them up against the fence and hose them off.Highly, really highly, recommended.
