Egyptian cotton, it's not just cotton grown in Egypt - it is a particular type of long-staple cotton originally grown along the Nile. Egyptian cotton has the longest fibers. That is, when you pull the cotton from the cotton plant and remove the seeds and waxes, Egyptian cotton has longer fibers available for spinning into yarn than other cottons. When intertwining strands of yarn to make a larger product, long-staple cotton has fewer connection points, and therefore a greater percentage of area is the natural softness of the cotton.

The top sheet is not very wide, so there is nothing to tuck over the sides of the bed. Would have liked it better if the top sheet was wider. Good sheets though, soft.

A Sybaritic indulgence.

I think of myself as a hard working fellow, whose reviews over the years have been for various items such as steel-toed work shoes, milling machine toolholders, and the like, so it is not in character for me to review linens.I do like what little sleep I get. At one time I used to travel for my Fortune 500 employers, and did not have to use cheap hotels, so am a hard marker for comfort.The first time I slithered into these sheets, I squealed like a little girl. Let's see how they hold up over time. In 6 months or a year, I may upgrade it to Five Stars.Go ahead. Spoil yourself. No one else will. You deserve it. No one even has to know about it.
