Skin's miracle saviour

As I was turning forty, my skin, which was once extremely oily and would barely allow make-up to stay on, turned dry and porous. Add to that the fact that during the torrid Florida summers, my husband and I enjoy going to the beach and practicing aquatic sports as much as we can. My skin started to show some signs of mild melasma, a condition that develops as darker patches, varying in size and shape, and could drastically alter the appearance of the skin.After some in-depth research on the subject I came across La Prairie, a Swiss company with a product line that I can honestly say it has saved my skin. After three months of regular use of the products in the White Caviar Système, my skin was back to normal, with the signs of melasma practically eradicated, and a suppleness and softness one can only find in twenty-year old skin. My true breakthrough came when I scheduled a facial at the La Prairie counter of my local department store and was therefore amazed by the results. I had never had a facial that left my skin as soft, hydrated and supple as the one performed by the esthetician using these products. It took one hour, during which my skin was exfoliated, massaged and pampered to no end. As it is usual after a facial, I expected a mild breakout, which concerned me somewhat as I had a big event the following night. But I needed not have worried. No such breakout occurred, and my skin retained the elasticity acquired during that facial for the next seventy two hours.How is all of this accomplished, one would ask? For starters, the products contain the purest ingredients found in nature and are backed by the strictest technological research. Some of those ingredients are panax ginseng, root extract, different mushroom extracts and, of course, La Prairie's exclusive alpha-hydroxy complex of glycoproteins and actual caviar. This Illuminating Cream is light and airy, with the microscopic consistency of cottony caviar that, once applied to the skin, is immediately absorbed and hydrates it just as needed in each specific area. It can be used twice daily, although I prefer to use it at night after taking my make up off, as since it contains alpha-hydroxy acids, even when in small quantities, they have a tendency to make skin thinner, thus facilitating UVA and UVB rays absorption.The Illuminating Cream is part of the three-product White Caviar Système, which consists of two other serums, one for the delicate eye area and one for the rest of the face. When used with these serums, it is particularly recommended to combat melasma and other signs of hyperpigmentation, yet it can also be used as the regular moisturizing cream in one's everyday beauty routine.The one disadvantage of these products is their prohibitive pricing. A pot of the White Caviar Illuminating Cream will set you back $450.00 plus tax, so I would suggest purchasing through E-Bay, where most merchants offer them at a discount. They are, however, worth every penny.
