5Works great, stylish jacket, will keep you warm!
By RainyNW
After seeing other brands of these jackets for years, and reading mixed/bad reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. I can now say I am very impressed. This jacket is light too, as I have no worry about battery weight.Coincidentally after receiving this jacket as a christmas gift, I was due to be in Fairbanks Alaska for the day in the dead of winter. It was around -20F at the time, and my sister in law was a little taken back that I seemed so willing to pump gas in this little windbreaker looking thing and a pair of jeans. I had a "think geek" t-shirt underneath. At 100%, the jacket takes 1 minute before you can start to feel the heat. After about 3 minutes, i would say that it reaches to "temperature", which according to documentation is around 135F (I'd believe it). While I swear my jeans were freezing to my legs, at least my chest and back were very warm (was there a fire next to me?). I can't say the jacket did much to keep the rest of my body warm (stomach area and lower back), but we are starting getting into somewhat extreme conditions here where you should be wearing a little bit more if you wanted to feel comfortable. I suspect this jacket would be a nice add in a layer of other clothing or underneath a parka. The jacket was also nice when running from the house to the car, before the car could get a chance to warm up, among other situations. At such short warm up times, you can easily switch it on and off without much thought. I haven't ran the battery dead (they say not to go under 25%), but i think the 2 1/2 hour number is quite realistic at 100% power level. The lower power modes are probably more suitable for moderate temperatures or while active and these modes are probably what you would want for longer term heat. But even the 25% mode can be like wearing something several times thicker. At 2 hours charging time from a dead battery (and since its lithium, charging is worry free), the jacket doesn't take much time to get back into shape. The jacket is of good quality by itself, stylish, with a good fit. It has some cool built in half gloves hidden in the cuffs. I could see myself buying just the jacket alone (assuming it was properly priced). If you push hard enough, you can feel the elements (which are probably some sort of thick resistive wire), but it goes unnoticed otherwise. Also, if you want a nice heat jumpstart, simply push the elements down on your chest. Its too bad the jacket doesn't use the newer carbon fiber mat heaters, but perhaps there is a reason for this. It appears to be TSA friendly, as they were not thrown back by a mesh of thick wires in the fabric connected to an electronic device.Operating was a little tricky until i got the hang of it. There is one button used to switch it on, off, check battery level, and set the power level. The control panel doubles as a battery pack, and hangs out in the left pocket (there is a little inside pocket you can shove it into if it annoys you floating around in there). Its smaller than a credit card, but maybe as thick as a AA battery.

5Ansai Hot Jacket
By Brother T
Great product. The coldest day I rode was 32 degrees. I commute 30 miles one way doing 65mph for 30 minutes. Stayed nice and warm. I like the battery operation instead of having to hard wire into the motorcycle. Definitely recommend this product. What took me so long to buy this? Even after my wife told me to do it years ago! I should of listened to her as usual she was right.

4great for the price
By T. Carlson
before i purchased this i looked at numerous other heated jackets at various price ranges(up to 800$). I choose this one for the price and looks. the Medium fits me perfectly but im a rather small build. it heats decent..i wouldn't recommend it for Alaska or any severe cold temps. But above 15 Fahrenheit it kept me extremely warm with just a t shirt underneath.. the battery holds the charge the retailers promise which i found a surprise.overall great for the price. do not regret my purchase.
