Good bulb... Lamp housing problem

I have a AW15 projector and after installing this lamp, there was a burning plastic smell during operation. I did not feel comfortable with the smell being produced (sometimes with new electronics, the first usage produces a plasic scent). This was more than just a scent. I proceeded to pull the lamp and compare it to my old burned out OEM lamp. The vents (screens) on the lamp were slightly different and offset. After realizing this, I transferred the bulb from my new lamp housing to my old lamp housing. I installed it and everything works great. It's been awhile with many hours of use and no issue. So long as you have the old lamp from your projector, it's very easy to swap out the bulb. All you need is a philips screwdriver and loosen 3 screws.

Excellent lamp - extended use

I obtained one of these (via Prolitex) a year ago and I am ordering another one even though the current one is still working. It has an incredible number of hours on it (over 4000 since we use our projector as a main TV, or just leave it on in the background) and it is only now, starting to dim a bit. Excellent life in my opinion and this is a better price and quality than the bare bulbs that I purchased before that would only last for 3-6 months, under the same conditions. This comes with the frame and is easy to install (don't forget to clean the filter once in a while).Excellent value for this product.
