"Two Paws Up!" From My Cats

If you're like me, you're thinking, "Ouch! $100 bucks for a cat shelf?!?" Believe me, I contemplated this purchase for several months before making it. I looked at alternative options and decided because this was going to go in my living room, I wanted something clean looking and above all, safe for my cats. My two boys weigh 14 lbs each and they love this! They use it every day and that makes me feel like it was worth every penny. I put each of them on the shelf only one time, just so they'd know it was OK for them to go up there. After that, as the old saying goes, they took to it like ducks to water.This product is STURDY. By that I mean HEAVY. It's a two-person job to install it. You'll have to be a bit flexible on placement because it's necessary (if you want it to be secure) to line up the holes with the studs in your wall. A template is included which made figuring out the placement and marking hole locations easy. For the job, you'll probably want a pencil, a stud finder, a drill (to make holes for the anchors), a hammer (to tap in the anchors), and a power screw driver. And at least one strong person to hold the shelf up while the screws get put in place.I was concerned this unit might not be deep enough, given my boys are on the larger side, but they do just fine on it, and there is no problem with them both being on there at the same time. I highly recommend this product if you have a cat who enjoys climbing (which is most cats, I would imagine!)

Quality seemed okay, color was WAYYYY off

I purchased two of these. One left facing and one right facing. I purchased them with my amazon prime and shipping was very fast as I expected. I opened the first box and was so disappointed! The color is no where near the dark sleek Titanium gray which is described in both the pictures and the text of the item. The shelf stood out terribly on my dark gray wall and I knew I would never be satisfied with the item.Very disappointed I shipped them both back to amazon. I was even more disappointed when I was charged for the return shipping on both pieces! Had the picture and description shown the "primer" gray color of the shelves I never would have purchased.The product itself seemed very durable and well made - just not at all as I expected. If you don't care about the color I think you would enjoy this product.

Though we had a little trouble hanging this shelf (user error, I think!), it is perfect for our cats. It is very sturdy, and the cats love the soft carpet. We have older cats who don't use all the activities usually found in a tower, so a couple wall perches suits them quite well.
