Excellent Small Shaving Brush

This shaving brush is a delight to use. It's a lot softer than the cheaper Tweezerman brush I had been using. Now with the Edwin Jager brush I can luxuriate in the daily ritual of wet shaving. A well made brush I expect this one to give me years of service. Made from Super Badger hair the bristles absorb water quickly and makes a nice mound of lather. I have used Taylors of Old Bond Street (Tobs9) - Shaving Cream for Sensitive Skin 150g - Made in England with the brush with excellent results. No problem with any odor out of the box. The handle is imitation ivory (plastic) and it feels heavy. It comes with it's own drip stand.

This brush builds up a lather that rivals medium size brushes. I have both small and medium Jagger brushes; both have the same quality badger. This small-size brush enables one to whip-up an incredible lather and it's a controllable lather. Unlike the medium brush, I don't have lather cascading from the knot end of the bristles in a nearly uncontrollable manner. The lather on the small brush is plentiful, and it is controllable. You won't find yourself having to three-finger the base of the bristles to maintain the lather in the upper portion of the brush. Whipped soap stays where it should so it can be dispensed where you want it. I used to have too much lather building up with the medium brush, but not the case with this one--it's perfect for whipping up a full lather. The medium brush does make a bit too much lather for me, and if I re-lather, as I often do, I don't have to contend with a store of lather at the base of the bristles.This is a terrific product with soft bristles that will only increase in softness after some use, just as my medium Jagger medium brush. Don't be discouraged by the size or adjective 'small'. Also, when you first use the brush the bristles will expand of fluff-up from when you initially remove it from its packaging. Excellent brush!
