very safe; worth the money
By wilson
the Grr-Ripper is a great improvement over push sticks and handle pushers for medium-sized and small work. Their value is that they keep your hands safely away from the blades and cutters while you're holding the handle. the base consists of 3 "runners" with a green rubber-like pad - two on the outside of the Grr-Ripper handle-block, and a movable one that slides between them. The advantage of the gripper is that it naturally produces a linear feed of the material vs. a "pivoted" feed that a push stick produces. The most violent kickbacks that I have seen were produced when the stock twisted into the back of the blade - Grr-Rippers linear feed control is designed to prevent that because there is no pivot point for the stock to twist on. Rather, the Grr-Ripper allows the user to hold the material against the fence like a feather board that is the length of the material, but without adding pressure that would close the cut.I recommend the 200 model as the handle bridges alone are worth the nominal increase in cost. Also, the 200 model has an extra stabilizing plate that extends about 4" to the side of the Grr-Ripper. this is useful because while in use it allows your hand to change the center of balance of the gripper away from the blade. Third, the 200 has an extension with a rubber face and a plain face that i've found useful. I have found the most use of the Grr-Ripper on the router table and band saw, although i'm finding more and more safe options available to me on the table saw. There are many videos on the Internet that are work checking out if you haven't seen one of these in operation. The DVD that comes with the Grr-Ripper has some very interesting features that go beyond the use of the Grr-Ripper for safety. The videos on making inlays are pretty cool.the Grr-Ripper is an important contribution to shop safety. Recommended

Love it!
By Jack A. Whelan
I bought these to use on the joiner after I took off two tips. I had no idea that I would end up using it for so many other projects. These have become my go to tool. They are great for rip cuts on the table saw and make life a lot easier at the router table too. For those of you trying to decide if you should get one or two...If you can afford it...get two. It makes life a lot easier at the table saw. Also the handle bridges are a necessity. The DVD should be concidered a freeby.I was going to buy these years ago but held off because the company that makes them also makes the Steel Pro Splitter system, one of the worst products have ever used; however, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Grr-ripper. Every tool should come with one of these!!!

Awesomely Safe
By C. B. Farley
I bought two, with all the accessories and they arrived on the day I needed to cut dados in some very small rails. I was nervous because it is always dangerous to do drawer rails that way and I've nicked a finger before. These things grip wood very well and are incredibly safe to use. They kept my hands completely away from the blade, made the wood slide easily, allowed me to keep pressure in all three directions to keep the wood perfectly aligned and let me plow through making the rails. They were extremely safe, easy to assemble, easy to use and well worth the money - especially compared to the costs of losing a finger or taking a trip to the emergency room. The Grr-ripper system lives up to the hype. I'm 100% satisfied and highly recommend these to anyone that uses a table saw or shaper table or pretty much any stationary bladed tool.
