Solid Pistol

Nov 2012: Since I broke my leg and could not get to the real range, I have 24,000 rounds through my KWA 1911 MKI PTP since June 2012. I have had one magazine break--the follower was jamming. KWA repaired it. I keep spare O rings for the fill valves. Other than that, I simply shoot it. I do not have any problems with rapid fire or velocity drop off due to magazine cooling, but I live in Arizona. I normally shoot a couple rapid six-shot strings in daily training sessions and they all smack the target with the same authority. Mine is as accurate up to 15 yards as any out of the box actual 1911. I use my regular 1911 holster and mag holders. I like this pistol.

My 13 year old son is extremely happy with this gun. It does everything that it was advertized to do. It has a great feel to it. He is overall very impressed with it!

I purchased a MK1 version from a local brick and mortar. There are four essentially identical versions, two with a standard barrel and two with a bull barrel, then one of each version is available with a light rail.This is one of KWA's professional series and very closely mimics the real thing.The only small nitpick I can voice is the safety is not as positive in the on and off positions as on an actual 1911.It does fit in a fitted holster made for the 1911, although just a tad snug.The adjustable hop up allows you to adjust the point of impact for the pellets you are using.When firing, it recoils about like a .22 conversion but otherwise it is very close to the real deal ( except of course power ).I cannot be happier with this pistol, it gives me a trainer that I can use indoors without any danger of a ND. As such, I do keep the orange tip on the pistol as an added cue that this is a trainer. The only thing worse than a BANG when you expected a POP would be a POP when you need a BANG!One warning is that this is an Airsoft pistol, it is not a toy, treat it like a BB gun and do not shoot anything you might break like skin, eyes or TV sets.I know some who like to train with paint ball and that is fine but if you miss your target while practicing room clearing inside your house, you will get a lot less grief from your wife with a small dent in the drywall vs: a large paint splatter! Also, use the green gas indoors, it does not smell as bad as propane.
