Very good value.

It took me a very-long time to pick out a humidor. One thing that I quickly learned: there are only two price-ranges for humidors: 1)expensive, and 2)cheap. There is no middle-ground.Since I wasn't willing to fork over 1k or thereabouts or more for a fine humidor, I stuck to browsing the cheap ones, and this one caught my eye and stayed on the list until the end. Why? Look at the pic- it's a stunning piece, really: restrained, art-deco design; looks like it holds a good amount of sticks, intriguing arrangement of space. When I ordered it (from another vendor's website, actually), I expected the worst, I expected to "make do" with whatever arrived, hopefully.What came instead totally surprised me! Yes, it is made in China... but!!! It is made from very-good materials. The drawers, construction and interiors are totally Spanish cedar. I bet you are (like I was) wondering about those swinging side-compartments. Here's the deal with them: they are not part of the humidification. Each side holds EXACTLY 10 packs of cigarettes (2 cartons total). That's great if you bounce between the two smoking-products (like I do); if not, they're decent storage for odds-and-ends. They are made of Spanish cedar as well, the compartments pivot on small rods; the doors move sturdily and smoothly by piano-hinges.Now, the humidor proper: it has a good seal. The bird's-eye maple veneer is real. The rest is painted black and the whole is lacquered- and finished fairly-well. Very nice. It's a heavy piece. Each drawer (3- all of Sp. cedar) plus the top (which includes 1 divider) will comfortably hold a box of 25 cigars, generally. So... 100 in all- no matter what an ad might say. It'll hold more than that if they're a smaller ring-gauge, of course, less if larger.The air-maintenance pieces are cheap- and standard for this whole line. The humidifier is the foam-type. Do-able. I had to re-inforce the adhesive magnet with some double-sided tape to keep it from falling off, but it works well otherwise. The hygrometer is gold-colored plastic, and needed recalibration (it does have an adjustment slot, yes), and it keeps track OK. I keep a digital one in a drawer as a backup until I get an analog upgrade. My cigar-stash is now breathing and doing well in the new home after a 1.5-day, slow seasoning (necessary for any new humidor)I did one minor adjustment: the key-hole plate was installed about 1/8" higher than my liking. Easily, I removed this and drilled two new holes, and it is now perfect. This was entirely aesthetic, and not something I minded doing in the least. Overall, despite it being a product of mass-production, I am impressed by its design and use of decent materials. I am extremely happy with it, and would recommend this particular model- or any of the others in the line- to anyone. It's a fine-looking piece of furniture. Good deal.
