Wampler Rocks!

I bought the Wampler Ego Compressor a week ago and I love it. I don't do much clean "chicken pickin" but it will do that if you desire. I really use it for extending the note or sustain on the overdrives. Man it works wonders fattening up your sound. The blend knob should be on every compressor! Highly recommended. All the Wampler stuff is great.

One Small Problem

...and perhaps it is how I have placed my pedal in the chain (1st, right after the tuner output). But, I am finding the output/volume control way too sensitive near the top of its range. From all the way off to the last few degrees of rotation, there's very little gain change. But the last few degrees of rotation yield massive change....so much so that it is very difficult to 'trim', especially on stage in the middle of a song. This control is very important in balancing out the change in gain from by-pass to compression. But at the last few degrees of rotation, the gain change is nuts - like 15 - 20 db!! Would make a great overdrive pedal, but that's not what I spent $200 for. Otherwise, a great sounding compressor.

Been looking at Wampler Ego Compressors for some time, however couldn't bring myself to spend $200 for one. Kept looking for one at the right price and finally found one. A almost new, very lightly used Ego for $150. I had to get it ! The seller answered my questions quickly and accurately, thanks Jose. It works great, adding some nice tone and sustain. One of the best pedals I now own.
