Unbelievable Bass

This is my 3rd Yamaha RBX170 bass. I got the blue one first around 2 years ago, then the violin sunburst one, and just recently purchased the silver one. As a previous lead player, I wanted a bass (or basses) that were light weight, and easy to play. I started back on bass with Gibson SG basses. I have 2 of those. Nice, big fat rock and roll sound. BUT, these very inexpensive Yamaha basses blow me away. Light weight, fast neck, 2 octives, and tone up the waa-zoo! With just the neck pup on, there's a great resemblence to a Fender sound. Dial in some bridge pup, and this bass will BARK! It can tone in for any style, and slap bass on it is awesome. The best part, these basses are very loud, and no battery to fuss with. I use Elixir round wound heavy gauge strings, run through a PV Tour 700, with two 4 x 10 cabs. These basses are so cheap, grab one (or more) while they last!
