Wanted a hard, sturdy, lockable (only one lock in center), light (for easier removing), same-color-as-truck tonneau cover. Researched long and heard.Found one just per the specs, this one. Holy cow!Well, not quite the same-color-as-truck at first, this one is paintable. Got it painted locally. Worked out very well. Ended up being a lot less expensive than ordering one already painted. Probably $300 to $400 less expensive counting shipping, sales tax at local dealer, and up-front cost of painted one.Arrived via local drayage firm looking like it could be badly scratched or worse. The carton was ripped where the top of the cover would be. I know the truck driver and he pointed out the issue himself. So, I signed for it noting the external damage to the carton. Turned out it was just a little bitty mark that the painter could take care of. Good to go!If there was standing water beaded on the cover when it was opened, a bit of the water ran off into the front of the truck bed. Not good. Seemed to me that the molded foam front flap seal was upside down. It curled up versus down according to the installation instruction. You can see the installation instructions from the manufacturer's web site. Talked to the manufacture. They were helpful, but I had to do the fix. Really did not want to send it back or have anyone else do it anyway. So, OK.In my opinion, removing the cover is not quite as easy as advertised. It is light enough, but the hinge mechanism that is attached to the cover (not the truck bed) falls downward along the inside the bed rails of the truck and makes lifting the cover or sliding the cover rearward difficult. A little bit of Velcro rigging has helped keep the hinges in a folded position, so removal is easier than it was without the Velcro rigging. Also, I have to crawl into the bed with the cover closed to screw in and tighten the knurled knob on the end of bolt that holds the cover on the truck. It isn't too bad, but not real convenient.ProsIt is strong. You can easily stand on it.It is way lighter than our previous one. Only weighs about 60 pounds. The lock works very well. It operates as hold down mechanism without a key for the hold down and lock rod. Then it locks with a key.Keeps water out. Not dust.Hangs on the wall nicely when not in use.The paintable model was easily painted by a local body shop. No problems. When I called them they were helpful and wanted to be sure it worked after the modification.ConsAdjusting the lid during the installation is a little tricky - just have to keep trying. It leaked a little when opening after a rain.Had to turn the front flap/seal over myself. But now water doesn't run in the bed.Removal and re-installing is not as easy as I had hoped, but OK.SummaryNot quite a five star, but I recommend this cover.
