One small disappointment mars good product

The only reservation I have about these shoes is the poor quality of the laces, compared to the construction of the shoe itself. Very flimsy, cheap rawhide that detracts from an otherwise attractive product. There are too many competitors out there, and I frankly expected that a shoe in Sperry's "gold cup" line wouldn't skimp on such a noticeable detail. A pair I bought at the same time in another color has the same flaw, so it wasn't just one bad pair off of the assembly line.
